In their own words
MootUp
MootUp is a 3D platform for virtual and hybrid events that attendees can access across devices without a VR headset. Attendees can join through a browser using a shared link, without an app download or installation. Organizers can create conferences, exhibitions, breakout sessions, offices, coworking spaces, and classrooms with customizable venues, sponsor booths, breakout rooms, and custom 3D environments. Attendees can use customizable 3D, video, or hologram avatars and communicate through voice and video calls, text chat, private messages, gestures, and animations. The platform supports live and prerecorded video, with YouTube Live, Adobe Connect, and Zoom listed as streaming integrations. Its Trophio system tracks visits, content views, event elements, and interactions, and supports exporting metrics. The free Basic plan costs nothing and allows up to five participants per meeting, with a 40-minute meeting limit. Business pricing is custom, with plans listed for 50–10,000 participants.
Samudaia
Samudaia is a virtual office for remote and hybrid teams, organized around a shared 2D map with live presence. Members enter video rooms by walking their avatars into them; this connects their camera and microphone to people already there without a meeting link. Workspaces include map themes, avatars, status, multiple workspaces, roles and permissions, screen sharing, background blur, a shared whiteboard and per-room chat. Members can invite colleagues by email or a single join link. Video and audio use WebRTC through LiveKit, while the shared whiteboard is an Excalidraw canvas. Samudaia runs on Linux, macOS, Windows and the web, with no mobile apps listed. Its plan is free during early access, requires no credit card and includes a team-sized workspace; paid plans for large organizations are in development. The product does not support guests from outside the workspace or spatial audio, and it is not sized for 200-person all-hands events. Samudaia says its privacy policy is written for GDPR compliance, that it uses access controls and encryption in transit where applicable, and that it does not sell personal data.
