| Spec score · Game UI Design Software | 8.8 (#9) | 7.9 (#24) |
| Collaboration | Projects support live editing, comments, annotations, role-based permissions, guests and public or private links. | Real-time collaboration uses peer-to-peer WebRTC, requires no account, and sends design data directly between peers rather than through a central server. |
| Exports | Paid plans export PNG, PDF and offline HTML viewers; HTML retains pages, interactions and comments and can run behind a firewall. | Designs can be exported as PNG, JPG, WEBP, SVG, or Tailwind JSX, with image export scales from 0.5× to 4×. |
| Integrations | Official integrations include Jira, Confluence, Figma, Balsamiq import, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, Slack, Trello, SAML SSO and SCIM. | The MCP server connects with Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and other MCP clients over stdio or HTTP. |
| Product | Moqups combines online wireframing, mockups, diagrams, prototypes, and whiteboarding in one app. | OpenPencil is an open-source, Figma-compatible design editor that also serves as a toolkit for building custom editors. |
| Security | Moqups says it encrypts communications through SSL and stores data securely with regular backups in multiple geographic locations. | The MCP HTTP server enables authentication by default, binds TCP to 127.0.0.1 by default, and restricts file operations to a configured root while rejecting symlink escapes. |

In their own words
Moqups
Moqups is a freemium browser app for wireframing, mockups, diagrams, prototypes and whiteboarding. Users can add interactivity to designs for web and app prototypes, while teams brainstorm, edit, annotate and comment together in real time. The product includes more than 150 templates, preloaded icon sets and mobile and web stencil kits. Chrome and Firefox extensions turn webpages or selected elements into editable layouts and can generate an AI design brief. Listed connections include Google Drive, Slack, Dropbox, Box, Trello, Jira, Confluence and a Figma plugin. The Free plan costs nothing and allows one seat, two projects, 400 objects per project, 25MB image storage, seven guests and two watermarked exports. Starter costs $7 a month billed annually; Unlimited costs $103 a month billed annually. Moqups has no downloadable desktop version, though projects can be exported as HTML viewers for offline viewing.
OpenPencil
OpenPencil is a free, open-source design editor compatible with Figma files and a toolkit for building custom editors. It opens and saves native .fig files and supports copy-paste between Figma and OpenPencil. Design features include vector drawing, rich text, flexbox and CSS Grid auto-layout, components, variables, and multi-page documents. Exports cover PNG, JPG, WEBP, SVG, and Tailwind JSX, with image scales from 0.5× to 4×. Its built-in AI assistant provides 90+ editing and analysis tools and can connect to Anthropic, OpenAI, Google AI, and OpenRouter. Users supply their own provider key; OpenPencil provides no subscription or backend for that AI feature. A CLI inspects, exports, and analyzes .fig files with machine-readable JSON output. Peer-to-peer WebRTC enables real-time collaboration without accounts. The local-first product requires no account or server, offers desktop binaries for macOS, Windows, and Linux, and runs on the web with a touch-optimized mobile PWA. The Vue SDK targets teams embedding focused canvases, workflow tools, template editors, or AI-assisted editing surfaces.
