In their own words

Morgenruf

Morgenruf is an open-source Slack app for async standups, coffee chats, peer recognition, celebrations, and team insights. Its standup workflow sends configurable questions by direct message and posts responses in a chosen channel, with per-person timezones, reminders, custom questions, and skipped check-ins. Coffee chats pair channel members without repeating pairings and create a group of three when needed; Zoom can book the agreed time. Kudos uses a daily allowance that resets by timezone and includes giving and receiving leaderboards. Morgenruf integrates with Slack, while Google Chat standups are beta and Microsoft Teams support is in progress. The MIT-licensed app can be self-hosted with Docker Compose or Helm using a Postgres database you control, or used as a hosted service. An MCP server exposes standup data to Claude, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot. TLS/HTTPS protects data in transit, and Slack tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256.

Standup Alice

Standup Alice is a web-based bot for running asynchronous stand-up meetings. It reminds team members to answer questions, then sends a team summary at a chosen time to multiple channels and email. Teams can customize questions for each meeting, use threaded conversations for readable summaries, and manage multiple teams and workspaces, including shared channels and members in Slack Connect. Scheduling supports multiple time zones and both synchronous and asynchronous stand-ups. The maker lists Slack, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex and Google Chat among its platform options. The free plan covers Slack teams of one to four people and includes custom questions, reminders, admin summaries and reports, scheduling and time-zone integration. Paid plans describe support for larger teams, with multiple-team support, in-thread interaction, multi-channel support and invoice billing among higher-tier features. The pricing note says paid from $1.99/user/mo; plan details also list Paid - Pro at $1 a month, billed per user/month. Its full-featured free trial lasts six weeks, requires no credit card and may be longer for some teams.
