Mupen64Plus
Mupen64Plus is a free, plugin-based Nintendo 64 emulator for Linux, macOS, Windows, and FreeBSD. It is designed to play many games and includes four MIPS R4300 CPU emulators, with dynamic recompilers for 32-bit x86 and 64-bit amd64 systems. Plugins cover audio, graphics, signal co-processing, and input. Listed features include two OpenGL video plugins with high-resolution texture support, Rumble Pak and LIRC infrared remote support, and a GameShark-compatible cheat system. Users can adjust speed while retaining smooth sound output. A shared library interface allows integration with other systems and front-ends. The distributed download bundle includes a command-line-only console front-end; the project points users to third-party front-ends for graphical options. The v2.6.0 release page lists prebuilt 64-bit downloads for Linux, Windows, and macOS, plus source code. Documentation covers setup, file locations, rumble, textures, compatibility, and core and plugin settings. Not64
Not64 is a free, experimental Nintendo 64 emulator for Nintendo GameCube and Wii, described as a modification of Mupen64GC using devkitRice. It accepts z64, v64, and .n64 ROM files of any size. For SD or USB storage, ROMs go in /wii64/roms and saves in /wii64/saves; ROMs may also be anywhere on a DVD, with DVDxV2 required for Wii disc loading. Input supports Wii Remote, Nunchuk, Classic Controller, and GameCube Controller, with up to four Wii Remotes. Buttons are configurable through four slots for each controller type. Users can select a pure interpreter for compatibility or dynarec for speed. Video settings include aspect-ratio selection, forced 16:9, and optional 2xSaI texture scaling. Automatic native-save loading and saving and save states are supported, while save copying and deletion are not implemented. Downloads name Wii, Wii Mode (vWii) on Wii U, and Wii Mini. The project uses GNU GPL v2, with similar licensing and source availability required for released modifications.
