In their own words
Music Waveform
Music Waveform turns audio files into animated waveform videos in a browser for musicians, podcasters, and video editors. It accepts MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A/AAC, and FLAC files, with eight adjustable styles: bars, mirror, radial, scope, area, dots, blob, and circle. Users can tune color, waveform reaction, and resolution up to 4K, then preview the animation in sync with playback. One-click presets provide analysis and visual settings. Exports include MP4 video, transparent WebM, and ZIP files of transparent PNG frames; PNG frames do not include an audio track. Audio decoding, analysis, rendering, and encoding run locally in the browser, and the maker says files are not uploaded or stored on a server. The free plan costs nothing, with no account, watermark, or paywall. MP4 export requires an up-to-date Chromium browser or Safari 17 or newer. Long exports may run out of memory on older phones. The tool does not edit or accept video, transcribe audio, separate stems, batch-process, or provide an API.
Plane9
Plane9 is a free Windows 3D music visualizer and sound-responsive screensaver. It can run in a standalone window, as a screensaver, or as a VR visualizer, with OpenVR/HTC Vive and Oculus Rift support listed. The software offers 250 scenes that can be combined into more than 10,000 views, plus 39 transition scenes. It reacts to audio from computer sources such as Spotify and iTunes and can analyze sound from recording devices. Multiple monitors are supported, and analysis can use up to 18 speakers. A studio application records videos from the visualizer, and video export is available. Plane9 is listed at free for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. It requires an OpenGL 3.3-capable graphics card; the FAQ recommends a recent OpenGL 4.0 or newer card. Audio analysis does not work with unprocessed digital audio such as DTS. Commercial use of scenes and generated content requires a commercial-use license.
