In their own words
Nango
Nango provides infrastructure for building, running and maintaining integrations between products or AI agents and external APIs. It supports authentication, agent tools, webhooks, triggers and managed incremental data syncs, with a catalog listing more than 1,000 APIs. Integrations are built as code, with local development, CI/CD and multiple environments. Authentication options include OAuth 2.0, OAuth 1.0a, API keys, JWT, Basic auth and MCP auth. Nango manages token refresh, encrypts credentials in transit and at rest, and provides tenant isolation. Runtime features include resumable executions, retries, rate-limit handling, logs, metrics and alerts. The Free plan is free and has monthly caps of 10 connections, 10 compute hours and 10GB of data transfer. Pay-as-you-go costs $50 a month, includes $50 in monthly credits, and lists separate rates for connections, compute and data transfer. Self-hosting and custom connectors are supported. Nango says it does not currently offer EU-hosted cloud; Enterprise BYOC instances are available in AWS, GCP or Azure regions.
Pipedream
Pipedream is an integration layer for AI agents, available through an API and web workflows. It provides managed authentication and tools across thousands of APIs. Workflows can connect services with JavaScript or Python code, or with no-code drag-and-drop steps. The Apps catalog lists 3,223 apps and 14,957 registry tools. Integrations include prebuilt actions that write to APIs and triggers that stream events to applications in real time. Pipedream Connect adds MCP tools and a proxy that sends API requests with users’ credentials attached. Hosted OAuth flows, encrypted credential storage, automatic refresh, and project-level credential scoping are listed. Each action, MCP call, proxy request, or deployed trigger event uses one credit per 30 seconds of compute. The Free plan costs nothing, requires no card, and includes development features, connectors, tools, unlimited team members, and community support, but excludes production use and usage credits. Startup costs $99 a month annually or $150 a month monthly.
