In their own words
Neo4j
Neo4j is a property graph database for storing and querying connected data. It supports Cypher and GQL, ACID transactions, graph algorithms, replication, and vector search. Deployment options include self-hosted, hybrid, multi-cloud, and fully managed cloud, while the listed platform is self-hosted. Its tools include native language drivers, GraphQL and Cypher tools, visualization tools, and connectors for Confluent Cloud, Apache Kafka, cloud data warehouses, and BI tools. AuraDB Free costs nothing, billed monthly, and requires no payment method; it includes one database instance, single-zone deployment, and no service availability SLA. AuraDB Professional costs $65 a month and offers a 14-day free trial. AuraDB Business Critical costs $146 a month and includes a three-zone cluster and a 99.95% uptime SLA. AuraDB includes encryption at rest and in transit, and Neo4j provides role-based access controls. Neo4j Ops Manager administers and monitors deployments centrally. Support options range from best effort to 24x7 premium support with a one-hour response.
YugabyteDB Anywhere
YugabyteDB Anywhere (YBA) is a self-managed database-as-a-service for deploying and operating YugabyteDB universes. It supports on-premises Linux hosts, public clouds including AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI, as well as Kubernetes. Teams can configure multi-region, multi-zone, or multi-cloud universes, and design clusters to tolerate node, availability-zone, region, or cloud-provider failures. For disaster recovery, xCluster supports asynchronous replication between two universes. YBA handles online horizontal and vertical scaling, upgrades, configuration changes, OS patching, backups, and point-in-time recovery. Operations are available through a GUI, REST APIs, or Terraform provider; documentation also lists a CLI and Kubernetes Operator. Security controls include encryption in transit and at rest, LDAP and OIDC authentication, role-based UI and API access, and TLS certificate options. Internet-connected and air-gapped deployments are supported. A universe contains one primary cluster and may have one attached read replica. An evaluation license is free for up to 32 consecutive calendar days; commercial production use requires a license, with pricing on request.
