Overview

NEUTRINO turns lyrics and melody into synthesized singing, with a workflow built around written music rather than recorded vocals. It suits composers and producers who want a free vocal part for music or audio projects. Its biggest boundary is commercial embedding: putting the software or its generated audio inside an application needs separate permission.

Users download the software and add a voice library. The system estimates vocal timing, pitch, voice quality and breathiness from sheet music, then synthesizes the part with a vocoder. The project says its models learn from recordings made with performers’ permission or audio released by public institutions, rather than from existing pretrained models. That approach is relevant to users who care how the models were built, but NEUTRINO does not offer vocal-input conversion or user voice cloning.

Key features

Generation controls and output

Muon supports voice retakes and adjustable quality and processing speed, with advanced, standard and elements modes. These controls provide room to revise a take or prioritize speed; they do not change the notation-led nature of the workflow. Advanced and standard output is 48 kHz, 16-bit mono WAV, while elements output is 24 kHz, 16-bit mono WAV. Choose the former modes when the higher stated sample rate matters, or elements when its lower-resolution export meets the need.

Voice libraries and distribution

NEUTRINO depends on voice libraries that users add after downloading the software. Users cannot currently create their own libraries through a released framework; the project cites quality control and support costs. That makes the available voices a meaningful constraint for anyone seeking a custom sound. As of May 2025, supported distribution services include JOYSOUND Uta-Suki Music Post, BIG UP!, TuneCore Japan and Dwango’s music monetization service.

Hardware and help

The FAQ says about 4–6 GB of GPU VRAM is sufficient, while some processing may run out of memory below 4 GB. CPU processing modes are also described, giving users an alternative to GPU processing. For unresolved questions, the project directs users to contact it.

Pricing

NEUTRINO: 0.00 USD per free. The free plan covers general music and audio production, making it a strong fit for composers and producers who can use generated vocals in ordinary audio files. NEUTRINO itself places no restriction on those ordinary audio-file uses, but character-specific terms also apply and vary by character and asset type. Embedding the software or using generated audio inside an application requires separate permission, so product developers should not treat the free plan as a blanket commercial license.

Platforms

NEUTRINO is listed for Linux, macOS, web and Windows. GPU memory needs may matter on some setups, though CPU processing modes are also described.

Who it's for

Choose NEUTRINO if you write vocal parts as lyrics and melody and want synthesized singing for general music or audio production without paying for the software. It is a poor fit if you need to convert a recorded vocal, clone a voice, build your own voice library or embed the generator in an application without securing separate permission.

Pros and cons

Pro: Free general-production use makes it accessible for music and audio projects without a software fee.
Pro: Retakes, quality and speed controls, and three modes give users meaningful choices in generation.
Pro: Advanced and standard modes export 48 kHz, 16-bit mono WAV.
Con: The workflow starts from written music, not vocal input, and there is no voice cloning.
Con: Users cannot make their own voice libraries with a released framework, limiting custom-voice work.
Con: Application embedding or in-app use requires separate permission, and character-specific terms still apply to audio use.

Alternatives

AI Singing Voice Generators is the broader directory category for comparing tools in this field.

Pick Revocalize AI if its broad platform support or free plan’s five monthly conversion minutes and one Starter AI voice better match a limited conversion workflow. VoiSona Song is another free-plan option for users looking for a singing tool on iOS, macOS or Windows. Choose Kits AI if its web, Windows or API availability and free plan’s 15 conversion minutes suit the job; that plan has zero voice slots and zero download minutes. SightSinger may suit someone seeking a web-based option with a free trial and a $6.00 per month Solo plan.

SoulX-Singer is a free alternative for researchers and developers who want code and model weights under Apache 2.0. Vocalize offers an API plan billed at $0.048 per minute of generated audio plus $0.003 per request, with prepaid, no-subscription pricing. Audimee has a free plan with 15 conversion minutes, 11 royalty-free voices and MP3 downloads for personal use; choose it if those limits suit your conversion needs. Musicful is another freemium option, with Android, iOS, API and web platforms.

Verdict

NEUTRINO is a compelling free choice for composers and producers who want to generate singing from written lyrics and melody, with adjustable generation modes and WAV output. Its narrow input workflow, fixed voice-library approach and application-use permission boundary are decisive drawbacks for vocal conversion, custom-voice creation and embedded products. Choose it for ordinary audio production; look elsewhere if those limits define the project.
