In their own words
Nullstone
Nullstone is a developer platform for launching and managing applications on cloud providers such as AWS. It can run workloads as containers, serverless apps, static sites, or applications on servers. Preview environments can be created from a pull request or branch and removed after review or testing. Teams provision infrastructure with Terraform modules they can fork, customize, or create from scratch. Nullstone launches infrastructure in customers’ cloud accounts and says it does not access their data; secrets remain in that account in a vault such as AWS Secrets Manager. Its security information lists SOC 2 Type II certification and role-based access controls. Listed integrations include Datadog, NewRelic, SumoLogic, CircleCI, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions. The open-source CLI supports deployments, infrastructure provisioning, data retrieval, and module management on macOS, Windows, and Linux. The Individual plan is free at free; Startup costs $50 a month and includes two users, two environments, and 30 deploys per week. The SaaS service is hosted only and cannot be independently run or installed by customers.
PipeCD
PipeCD is a self-hosted continuous delivery platform that coordinates deployments through Git pull requests. Its shared deployment interface supports Kubernetes, Terraform, GCP Cloud Run, AWS Lambda, AWS ECS and other targets, while plugins let teams add custom applications or platforms. PipeCD says deployment setup needs a pipeline definition and application manifests, without changes to CRDs or application manifests. Built-in analysis assesses deployment impact with metrics, logs and emitted requests; the platform can roll back after analysis or pipeline-stage failures, detect configuration drift and launch deployments from defined events. Its UI presents deployment pipelines, per-deployment logs, live application state and delivery-performance insights. A centralized Control Plane works with piped agents that run deployments using plugin binaries. Security features include single sign-on and role-based access control, and credentials stay outside the Control Plane. PipeCD is open source under Apache 2.0 and costs nothing. For private Git repositories, piped needs a private SSH key and its corresponding public key added to the repository.
