Overview

Menus are accessible in a phone browser, so customers can browse without installing an app or creating an account. Restaurants can manage sizes, modifiers, promotions, multilingual menus, and labels for 14 major allergens. That is a practical range for varied menus, though allergen labels still need to reflect the restaurant’s own ingredients and handling.

Dine-in, pickup, and delivery orders can flow to a kitchen screen, thermal printer, or admin panel, with automatic customer status updates. Pre-orders can be linked to Reservation.Tools bookings so preparation can start before guests arrive. Availability controls and POS synchronization add operational coordination, while marketplace connections include Wolt, Glovo, Takeaway, Bolt Food, Foodpanda, and UberEats.

Key features

Payments and automation

Payment options include Stripe card payments with 3D Secure, MyPOS terminals, Barsy POS integration, and cash on pickup or delivery. The listed AI tools cover phone ordering, menu import from photos, smart upsells, an admin assistant, and product-description generation. AI assistant questions and voice calls are subject to usage limits on the free plan, so high-volume use may require attention to those limits.

Setup and data practices

Ordering.Tools says setup assistance is free and most restaurants can go live within 30 minutes. Its privacy policy describes encryption in transit and at rest for stored files and backups, role-based access, hashed passwords, and multi-tenant isolation. It identifies AWS infrastructure in Ireland and says data is not transferred outside the EU/EEA, UK, and USA.

Pricing

The Free plan costs €0 and includes 20 orders per month with no platform commission. It is a sensible way to try the workflow or serve a very low-volume operation, but the cap makes it unsuitable as a growing restaurant’s steady ordering channel.

Starter is billed at €30/month and allows unlimited monthly orders, but charges a 5% platform commission on all orders. Pro is billed at €60/month, also with unlimited orders, and reduces that commission to 3%. Starter fits businesses whose order volume keeps the lower fixed cost worthwhile; Pro becomes more attractive as commission exposure grows. Neither paid plan removes transaction-based platform costs.

The phone system add-on is sold separately: €200 one-off setup plus €60 per month, and can be added to any plan. Prices exclude VAT. A 30-day trial is offered. The phone add-on’s separate recurring charge matters when comparing the total cost of a phone-led ordering setup.

Platforms

Ordering.Tools supports Android, iOS, and web. Customer menu browsing works in a phone browser without an app installation, reducing friction for customers who only need to view a menu.

Who it's for

It is a good fit for restaurants that need one system for digital menus, several order types, kitchen routing, and marketplace orders, especially where reservation-linked pre-orders or allergen labeling matter. It is less compelling for businesses with substantial online order volume if a 3% or 5% commission would outweigh the plan’s convenience, or for operations needing more than 20 monthly orders without commission costs.

Pros and cons

Pros: Dine-in, pickup, and delivery share one workflow, with kitchen display, printer, or admin-panel routing and customer status updates.
Pros: Menu controls include modifiers, promotions, multiple languages, and labels for 14 major allergens.
Pros: Marketplace integrations and multiple payment methods give restaurants several ways to receive and process orders.
Cons: The no-commission free plan is capped at 20 orders per month, limiting its use beyond a small trial or low-volume operation.
Cons: Unlimited-order paid plans still charge 5% or 3% on all orders, so costs scale with sales.
Cons: The phone system adds €200 setup and €60 per month on top of a plan.

Alternatives

For a venue that wants open-source software running locally rather than a SaaS subscription, Baresto Manager is free to run with no license fee, though installation support is optional and paid. ChefDesk is another restaurant-management option with pricing based on outlets and modules; choose it if that pricing model better suits an outlet- and module-based setup.

HungerRush has a qualifying Starter offer from $0/month for one location and one POS terminal, which may suit a business that meets those criteria. Odoo Restaurant offers a free One App plan with unlimited users, a possible fit when one app and broad platform support are the priority.

NodeDR OrderRestro is a free alternative. For kitchen-display-focused choices, CurryIQ Kitchen Display has a paid Starter plan at 499.00 INR per month, while FloCafe KDS is free open-source software with hardware and operating costs separate. Fresh KDS is a paid alternative with Essentials at 20.00 USD per month per screen and a free trial.

Verdict

Choose Ordering.Tools if your restaurant needs menus, multi-channel ordering, and kitchen routing in one system, and you can absorb the commission on paid orders. Its free tier is useful for a small test, but the 20-order ceiling and the added phone-system cost make total economics the key reason to compare alternatives.
