| API | The product offers a REST API and scoped, revocable API keys for automation and third-party tools. | The documented runtime API endpoint is GET/PUT /api/network-data. |
| Deployment | The maker presents Obelinf as a managed service requiring no server deployment, patching or backups by the customer. | The project provides Docker and Docker Compose deployment instructions with writable data volume support. |
| Integrations | The maker specifically documents Claude and Cursor as MCP-compatible clients. | The project says it has no runtime dependency on external APIs and includes a locally vendored icon catalog for offline-friendly behavior. |
| IPAM | The product models subnet hierarchies, VRFs and VLANs and shows live address utilization. | The IPAM panel shows per-subnet utilization, detects duplicate IP conflicts, and suggests the next free IP when adding machines, devices, or VMs. |

In their own words
Obelinf
Obelinf combines IP address management, device inventory, data center infrastructure management, network topology, rack management, cable tracking, VLAN/VRF management and infrastructure audit history. Its IPAM tools cover hierarchical subnets, VRF models, VLAN mapping, address status, reservations and live utilization. Interactive diagrams provide site-aware topology views and cable-path tracing; rack tools show elevations, U-position tracking, reservations and utilization across a fleet. A REST API and scoped, revocable keys support automation, while an MCP endpoint lets compatible assistants query and update records. The maker says create, update and delete actions are logged with user, timestamp, context and field-level changes. The free Personal plan allows up to 30 devices, four racks, five subnets, 100 IP addresses, 25 cables and 10 VLANs; VMs and clusters require a paid plan. Personal is free, Teams is $99 a month, and Scale is $299 a month. Paid plans have a 14-day trial that requires a credit card.
Open Network Diagram
Open Network Diagram is a free, self-hosted tool for visualizing and managing home lab and network architecture. It provides network, Hosts & VMs, and rack views for mapping topology and inventory, including subnets, VLANs, virtual machines and rack positions. Connections can record cable type, colour and length. Its IPAM panel reports subnet utilization, detects duplicate addresses and suggests the next free IP. The application keeps JSON as its source of truth; self-hosted changes autosave, writes are persisted atomically, and rolling backups retain the last five files. Deployment is Docker-first, with writable data volumes and Docker Compose support. The runtime exposes GET and PUT operations at /api/network-data, and published Docker images support AMD64 and 64-bit ARM, including Raspberry Pi systems. The project is licensed under GNU GPL v3 and has no runtime dependency on external APIs. It does not include authentication or TLS. The project warns that topology details may expose sensitive infrastructure information and advises restricting access or using an authenticated TLS-terminating reverse proxy.
