In their own words
Ocenaudio
Ocenaudio is a free audio editor for editing and analyzing files on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Users can preview effects as they adjust controls, including effects from supported VST plugins, and apply edits or effects to separate selected portions together. The editor includes a spectrogram whose settings update in real time, as well as spectral analysis and audio signal generation. Opening, saving, and applying effects run in the background, allowing work on other files during those operations. The maker says there is no limit to audio-file length or quantity and describes memory management for large files. The Windows download supports Windows 10 or later, 64-bit, with installer and portable ZIP options. The current macOS download supports 14.4 or later on Intel and ARM 64-bit, with a legacy build for 10.14 or later. Linux options include an AppImage and packages for Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Rocky Linux, openSUSE, and Arch Linux. Users can contact the development team through a feedback form to suggest features or report bugs; an email is required only to receive a response. The downloadable editor is listed at free.
WavePad
WavePad records and edits music, voice, and other audio on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. Its editing tools include cut, copy, paste, trim, compression, and pitch shifting, while effects include echo, amplification, and equalization. Restoration tools reduce noise and remove clicks and pops. The software supports more than 50 formats, including MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, AAC, and M4A. Batch processing can apply effects or convert thousands of files in one operation. WavePad supports sample rates from 6 to 192 kHz, in stereo or mono and at 8, 16, 24, or 32 bits. It also supports DirectX and VST plugins, though the Standard Edition excludes VST support and the SFX Library. The maker lists podcast and radio editing, voiceovers, ringtone creation, and audio restoration as typical uses. The free version costs nothing, is for non-commercial use, and does not expire. It enables additional Master's Edition features for a 14-day trial after installation. Paid options include $60 a year for Standard Edition and $99 a year for Master's Edition.
