In their own words
OP3
OP3 is a free, open-source podcast prefix analytics service for podcasters and podcast hosting companies. To measure downloads, a host or podcaster places https://op3.dev/e/ before episode URLs in a podcast feed. Each measured show receives a public statistics page with download metrics, detailed breakdowns, and spreadsheet exports covering its history. OP3 also provides an API for collected podcast data; requests require a bearer token linked to a valid API key. The service says it stores basic request attributes, hashes and encrypts listener IP addresses before storage, and does not combine those addresses with third-party data or services. Its privacy policy says no cookies are used and identifies Cloudflare as the sole hosting provider and data store. OP3 says its redirect service uses a global CDN with edge nodes in more than 335 cities across more than 125 countries. API hit-query filtering by URL or hashed IP is limited to the last 90 days.
Podash
Podash tracks podcast rankings and activity across Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Its charts cover 15 countries and 18 categories, with historical data available for up to 30 days. Users can search for podcasts and view their details, while the app monitors Apple Podcast reviews. Connecting Simplecast and YouTube aggregates download numbers for the last five episodes. Widgets are available for the Home Screen and Today View, as well as on iPad and Mac. The free download has in-app purchases: Indie Podcaster costs $0.99 a month or $9.99 a year, and Podcast Network costs $9.99, paid once and allows following an unlimited number of podcasts. The maker describes the charts as useful to marketing experts monitoring recently popular shows for performance marketing. Podash is made by fruitful apps, an app studio in Hamburg, Germany. The maker says the app has no tracking, data collection or ads, and that a Simplecast API key is kept in iCloud Keychain where only the user can access it. iPhone requires iOS 17.4 or later; Mac compatibility requires macOS 14.4 or later and Apple M1 or later.
