| Audience | The enterprise page describes Open WebUI as designed for organizations from startups to Fortune 500 companies and offers enterprise licensing to registered entities and organizations. | The project describes itself as a tool for savvy AI hobbyists and power users who want control over their LLM prompts. |
| App integrations | Yes | SillyTavern supports local and cloud LLM backends, including KoboldCpp, llama.cpp, Ollama, OpenAI, Claude, Mistral, OpenRouter, and AI Horde. |
| Privacy | Chats, files, knowledge bases, embeddings, users, permissions, and logs are stored in the database and storage the operator configures; data is routed externally when external providers, tools, model endpoints, or integrations are configured. | The project says it provides no online or hosted services and does not programmatically track user data; cloud model providers may log data sent to their services. |
| Support | Enterprise support can include a dedicated account manager, core-engineer office hours, dedicated support channels, and consulting; the page says guidance is provided rather than implementation services. | The project directs users to its Discord community, GitHub issues, and documentation for help. |

In their own words
Open WebUI
Open WebUI is a self-hosted interface for local and cloud AI models, designed to run entirely offline. It connects to Ollama and OpenAI-compatible APIs. Installation options include Docker, pip, uv, and desktop setup; the documentation recommends Docker or Python for production deployments. Listed capabilities include voice, vision, retrieval, generation, search, Python extensions, file uploads, image generation, app integrations, and team workspaces. Its extension system supports Filters, Actions, Pipes, Tools, and Skills, and can connect through MCP, MCPO, and OpenAPI tool servers. Knowledge retrieval includes local RAG with nine vector databases, multiple content-extraction engines, hybrid search, reranking, and full-context mode. Organizations can deploy it on-premises, in a private cloud, or in an air-gapped environment. The operator configures where chats and other data are stored; data can be routed externally when external providers, tools, model endpoints, or integrations are configured. The software is free to use as-is with original branding intact. Deployments with more than 50 users must keep Open WebUI branding visible unless an exception applies.
SillyTavern
SillyTavern is a locally installed interface for interacting with text-generation models, image-generation engines, and text-to-speech voice models. Users can create, import, and switch between character cards, then return to chat histories or review them. The interface includes group chats, lorebooks, personas, prompt controls, chat commands, scripting, and built-in retrieval-augmented generation. Extensions can add character sprites, chat summarization and translation, image generation, text-to-speech, and web search. SillyTavern works with local and cloud model backends, including KoboldCpp, llama.cpp, Ollama, OpenAI, Claude, Mistral, OpenRouter, and AI Horde. The project says it will remain free and open source under AGPL-3.0 and provides no hosted service. It says it does not programmatically track user data, though cloud providers may log information sent to them. Local use requires a system supporting NodeJS 20 or higher; documentation recommends an NVIDIA 3000-series GPU with at least 6GB of VRAM for local inference. The app was not designed for very large character libraries, and performance can degrade above 1,000 characters.
