In their own words
OpenBooth
OpenBooth is free, open-source photobooth software for Linux. It is designed for touchscreen operation and photo capture, with image filters, a live preview of the filtered result, and wireless triggering. The software communicates with cameras through the gPhoto2 library and its Java bindings, while OpenCV handles image processing. OpenBooth is still in development, and its project page describes initial tests in progress. The project began as an assignment at the Technical University Vienna and continues with Otelo Wien through a five-student computer-science team. It is released under the MIT License, allowing use, copying, modification, distribution, sublicensing, and sale under the license conditions. The project Wiki provides program documentation, hardware information, and build-and-run tutorials. Questions are invited through the Wiki or by email.
Touchpix
Touchpix is photo booth software for event professionals and rental companies producing 360°, photo, and video experiences. It supports iPhone, iPad, GoPro models 7 through 13, DSLR cameras, and mirrorless cameras. Capture options include still photos, AI photos, Boomerang, video, animated GIFs, and Slomo video. The software lists more than 60 filters and effects, plus over 300 designs in its online overlay designer. Backgrounds can be removed automatically and offline, without a green screen or internet connection. Operators can manage event settings through an online dashboard. Listed integrations include Bluetooth booth triggering, Google Drive and Dropbox uploads, AirPlay display, and sharing through email, SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter. Scanpix 2 enables internet-free sharing for Android and Apple devices, and an offline queue can send content later. Plans are billed annually and include six months of storage; event photos, videos, and related personal information are deleted six months after event creation. Touchpix offers a 14-day trial and has no free plan.
