In their own words
OpenHabitTracker
OpenHabitTracker is a habit tracker for recording habits, planning tasks and keeping notes. Habits can recur daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, with progress measured by repetitions, time or a target quantity. Tasks can include planned dates and times, durations, checklists and timers, while notes support Markdown. Categories and priorities help organize notes, tasks and habits; lists can also be searched, filtered and sorted. The app can import from Google Keep and supports importing and exporting Markdown, YAML, JSON and TSV files. Its web app works offline and stores data on the device without online sync. The self-hosted Docker version stores data online and requires an internet connection. The maker says the app has no trackers and no account. Notifications include daily due-item summaries and reminders before planned task times, though availability depends on the platform and whether the app is open. It supports keyboard navigation, screen readers and reduced-motion preferences, and is available in 20 languages. It runs on Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, Windows, web and self-hosted deployments. The Free plan is free, with no ads, subscription or in-app purchases.
Strides
Strides is a tracker app that brings goals, habits, daily routines, tasks, and projects together. It offers Habit, Target, Average, and Project tracker types. Users can set SMART goals through a three-step process or start from a template; the app includes more than 150 templates and supports custom trackers. Progress tools include pace lines, streaks, success rates, calendars, line charts, and reports. The Daily Goals view filters trackers to those due for logging according to their repeat settings. Users can invite accountability partners to view selected goals or collaborate on a goal using iCloud on Apple devices. The app listing says Strides integrates with Apple Health, and the listed platforms are Android, iOS, and macOS. The maker says it does not rent, sell, or share user data with other companies or advertisers. Apple-only users can store data on devices and in iCloud; Android data is stored on the phone by default, with Firebase backup available if enabled.
