In their own words
OpenHuman Atlas
OpenHuman Atlas is an interactive 3D human anatomy atlas for searching, isolating, and inspecting structures. It covers 11 body systems with independent visibility controls, structure selection, labeled metadata, cross-section slicing, and region-based navigation. Atlas AI answers questions about a selected structure and its relationships to nearby anatomy alongside the model. Illustration tools include a skeletal rig, bone posing, a pose animator, video AR with body tracking, and a webcam-driven skeletal overlay. Explorer is free and includes full atlas access, system-by-system exploration, region navigation, anatomical search, and augmented reality exploration. Professional costs $49/mo and adds AI guidance, high-quality image export, video recording, and 3D model and print-ready export. Institution costs $99/mo per seat and adds organization-owned access, team billing and seat management, rollout and onboarding support, and team collaboration. It runs on iOS, macOS, and web. Guided study paths, VR exploration, animation exports, and several surgical simulation capabilities are marked coming soon. The terms describe it as educational and informational, not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Z-Anatomy
Z-Anatomy is a free, open-source 3D atlas of human and veterinary anatomy built to run as a Blender template. The human atlas provides a navigable view inside Blender, using models derived from BodyParts3D and definitions that rely heavily on Wikipedia. To use the template, users need to download and install Blender, then install the template through Blender’s application-template command. A separate project repository contains models of non-human animals. The project also lists add-ons for cross-sections, labels, translation, visibility synchronization, and retrieving Wikipedia articles. Z-Wiki brings Wikipedia articles into Blender’s text editor, while Z-Translate can change languages and import or export translations of object names and data. Add-on compatibility varies: several list Blender 2.80+, while Z-Def, Z-Family, and Z-BONUS list Blender 4.5+. The code and content use Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International. Redistributed data and derivative works require attribution and must use the same license. The project profile lists Montpellier as its location.
