| Guardrails | The SDK includes guards for prompt injection, jailbreak and sensitive-topic detection using LLM and regular-expression checks. | Self-hosted deployments can use PII, topic and custom guardrails to detect or block unsafe inputs and outputs. |
| Integrations | The home page advertises more than 56 integrations spanning LLMs, agent frameworks, vector databases and GPUs. | The integration catalog covers TypeScript, Python, Java, .NET and Ruby ecosystems plus no-code tools and OpenTelemetry. |
| Prompt management | Prompt Hub provides prompt versioning, dynamic variables, API retrieval and AI-assisted prompt improvement. | Its prompt tools provide a library, version history, playground, composable prompt building and dataset-based comparisons. |
| Rating on G2 | 5.0 out of 5 from 1 review. | No rating; 0 reviews listed for Opik |
| Self-hosting | Docker Compose runs the UI on port 3000, OTLP receivers on ports 4317 and 4318, and ClickHouse for traces, metrics and logs; Kubernetes Helm deployment is also documented. | Self-hosting exposes the full feature set but omits user-management features; local Docker installation is for getting started, while Kubernetes is the production deployment option. |
| Support | The OSS plan includes community support on GitHub. | The pricing page lists community and self-service support across plans, email support for Pro and Enterprise, and dedicated support and SLAs for Enterprise. |
| System requirements | The local sandbox requires Docker and Docker Compose; Kubernetes users install the published Helm chart. | The documented local setup assumes Git and Docker; Linux, macOS and Windows installation scripts are provided. |
| Tracing | LLM tracing can capture calls, tools, and retrievals, with filters for user, session, cost, latency, and metadata. | The platform captures and visualizes multi-step agent execution, including LLM calls, tools and retrieval steps. |
| What it does | OpenLIT is an OpenTelemetry-native platform for tracing, evaluating, guarding and improving AI agents and coding agents. | Opik records agent interactions, retrieval, tool calls and model responses, then evaluates and monitors them across development, testing and production. |

In their own words
OpenLIT
OpenLIT is an open-source platform for tracing and evaluating LLM activity, managing prompts, and tracking costs. Built on OpenTelemetry, it can capture model calls, tool use, and retrievals, with filters for user, session, cost, latency, and metadata. Evaluations can use an LLM judge, heuristics, or human review on production traffic or experiments. Prompt Hub provides versioning, dynamic variables, API retrieval, unlimited prompt fetching, and AI-assisted improvement. OpenGround supports side-by-side model comparisons for latency, tokens, and cost, including comparisons using a user’s own key. Coding agent monitoring covers sessions, costs, tokens, repository activity, and code impact. The site lists more than 56 integrations across LLMs, agent frameworks, vector databases, and GPUs. OpenLIT accepts OTLP data and can be self-hosted with Docker Compose or Kubernetes Helm. Its Apache 2.0 license and site description note that self-hosting keeps prompts, traces, and secrets in the user’s environment. The OSS plan costs nothing and includes unlimited self-hosted usage, users, projects, and environments.
Opik
Opik helps teams building applications or agents that call an LLM log actions and evaluate behavior across development, testing, and production. It captures and visualizes traces, supports annotation, and provides audit logs. Its evaluation tools include more than 30 metrics for outcomes such as answer relevance, context precision, task completion, and hallucination. In production, Opik can evaluate traces in real time, alert when criteria fail, and track token use and model costs. Test Suites offer pass/fail assertions, an Agent Playground supports end-to-end tests, and a Prompt Optimizer provides six algorithms. Core observability and evaluation features are available as open-source code for local use. Opik includes a REST API and Python client, with Python and TypeScript SDKs listed, and integrations with more than 40 frameworks, model providers, and gateways. Free Cloud allows up to 10 team members, 25,000 spans per month, and 60-day retention. Pro Cloud costs $19 a month and lists up to 50 team members and 100,000 spans monthly.
