In their own words
OpenRefine
OpenRefine is a free, open-source tool for cleaning, transforming, and extending messy data. It works on the user's machine rather than sending data to a cloud service, and basic functions can run offline through a small web server on that computer. Facets help explore large datasets and apply changes to filtered views. Clustering uses heuristics to find similar values and address inconsistencies; reconciliation matches values to external databases through reconciliation services. Users can undo and redo operations without a stated history limit. OpenRefine imports formats including CSV, TSV, fixed-width text, JSON, XML, spreadsheets, PC-Axis, MARC, RDF formats, and Wikitext. It can also upload data to Google Sheets and create or update Wikidata statements. Releases are available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Java must be installed and configured, although the Mac version and some Windows packages include it. Data is not encrypted by default; operating-system full-disk encryption can protect it. The project offers support through its forum, GitHub, community calls, and Gitter chat.
Oracle WebCenter Content
Oracle WebCenter Content is an enterprise document management and imaging platform for handling documents in transactional business processes. Content Server lets organizations capture, secure, share, and distribute digital and paper documents and reports. Imaging supports processes such as high-volume invoice processing for Oracle Financial Management applications. Records Management provides controls for classification, retention, and destruction under retention and disposition policies. Capture supports production scanning, remote image capture, flexible indexing, and learning-based document recognition and data extraction. Integration options include persistent URLs, Java API, Microsoft COM, ActiveX, RIDC, SOAP, and WSDL-based web services. Security configuration includes SSL, security groups, roles, permissions, access control lists, and web services security. The product can be self-hosted or deployed on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. OCI Marketplace listings offer paid Universal Credit pricing or BYOL, with cloud resources billed by OCPU per hour; no numeric rate is listed. Oracle documentation lists WebCenter Content 14c version 14.1.2.0.0. In that version, Lotus Notes desktop integration and SharePoint Connector are deprecated, and the Add Server to Desktop Integration option is unavailable in the interface.
