In their own words
openstatus
Openstatus is an open-source platform for uptime monitoring and status pages. It checks websites, APIs, and services from 28 regions across multiple cloud providers. Automation options include a CLI, typed API with OpenAPI, Node SDK, MCP server, and Terraform management. Status pages can support custom domains, themes, subscribers, locale switching, and maintenance status, depending on the plan. The free Hobby plan includes one monitor, one status page, three components, and checks no more often than every 10 minutes. Starter costs $30 a month, or $300/year ($25/mo) when billed annually, with 20 monitors, one-minute checks, a custom domain, and subscribers. The platform is available on web and can be self-hosted with Docker under the AGPL-3.0 license. Paid plans include selected notifications such as Slack, email, webhook, WhatsApp, PagerDuty, and OpsGenie. Openstatus was founded in 2023 and is built by a self-funded two-person team.
StatusIQ
StatusIQ hosts status pages for organizations to communicate service health, outages, maintenance windows and incident updates. Pages can be public or password-protected for internal teams, partners or customer groups. Subscribers can receive updates by email, SMS or RSS, including alerts for selected components. StatusIQ can import data from monitoring tools through email and REST APIs; linked Site24x7 monitors can update a status-page component when downtime alerts occur. Page customization includes domains, logos, favicons, brand colors and custom email sender domains, while paid plans add automatically provisioned SSL for custom domains. Floating or inline widgets can display current service health inside a product. The postmortem editor supports rich text, tables and links. StatusIQ is available on web, Android, iOS and API. The Free plan includes one page, 10 components and 100 subscribers. Green costs $9 a month and Blue costs $50 a month. Paid plans have a 30-day trial, and no credit card is required to start a trial or free account.
