OpenText Core Performance Engineering
OpenText Core Performance Engineering is a cloud-based service for planning, running, and scaling performance tests. It can simulate more than 5 million virtual users in minutes and distribute test traffic across 40+ regions through AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Hybrid tests can also use on-premises load generators. Real-time metrics and predictive analytics help teams identify anomalies and bottlenecks. Test creation can be scriptless, while advanced users can customize scripts or reuse JMeter and other supported open-source scripts. The service covers web, mobile, API-based, microservices, and enterprise applications across various protocols and architectures. Jenkins and GitHub Actions are among its CI/CD integrations for automated testing. It supports load, stress, browser-based, API, and distributed load testing, along with requirements, test, and release management. OpenText positions it for developers, QA specialists, and project managers on Agile teams. There is no free plan, but a 30-day trial is available without a credit card. Pricing is usage-based and available by request.
Vegeta
Vegeta is a free, open-source HTTP load-testing tool and Go library that sends requests at a constant rate. Its command-line interface is built for UNIX-style composition, while the library offers use from Go programs. The project states that its load measurements avoid coordinated omission and that distributed testing is supported. Reports can be written as text, JSON, histograms, or HDR plots, and results can also be encoded as CSV, Gob, or JSON. The attack command can expose an optional Prometheus exporter. HTTP/2 works when supported by the server, including HTTP/2 over TCP without TLS. TLS options include client certificates and keys, custom root certificates, and ignoring invalid server certificates. The documented request timeout defaults to 30 seconds, with zero disabling timeouts. Prebuilt binaries, package-manager installs, distribution packages, and source builds are documented for Linux, macOS, Windows, API use, and self-hosting. The repository uses the MIT license.
