Overview

OTG Networks vFax is a cloud service for sending and receiving business faxes without fax hardware. It is most compelling for organizations already using GoOTG, especially those that need fax numbers and controls suited to regulated work. For a standalone fax purchase, compare the plan terms carefully before committing.

Key features

Staff can send a fax from an email client by attaching a PDF and entering the fax number in the recipient field; incoming faxes arrive as PDF attachments. That keeps fax traffic in a familiar inbox workflow, but the described email process is PDF-based. The web portal adds drag-and-drop sending, fax history, and management of multiple numbers, giving teams another route when email is not the right place to handle a document.

Customers can get a dedicated local or toll-free number, or port an existing number. That makes vFax a more practical fit for businesses that need a stable fax identity than a send-only service. Delivery receipts record the timestamp, pages delivered, and recipient confirmation, useful when staff need a clear transmission record.

OTG says faxes are encrypted in transit and at rest, with role-based access controls and audit logs. It describes vFax as HIPAA compliant and cites 256-bit encryption, full audit logs, and SOC 2 readiness. Those controls make it relevant to healthcare and other regulated operations, but do not by themselves determine whether a particular organization meets its compliance obligations. OTG also advertises unlimited cloud storage, avoiding a stated storage ceiling.

Pricing

vFax is priced at no cost when included with any GoOTG plan. That includes a dedicated local or toll-free fax number and sending and receiving faxes, so existing GoOTG customers can add faxing without a stated extra fee. The entry's paid pricing note says From $15/user/mo, but the vFax-specific terms describe it as included with GoOTG; buyers should confirm how their GoOTG plan pricing applies rather than treat the note as a separate vFax subscription price.

GoOTG Starter costs 15.00 USD per month, billed month-to-month, and includes unlimited calling, voicemail transcription, mobile and desktop apps, basic analytics, and email support. It suits teams that need those core phone features alongside included faxing. Business costs 29.00 USD per month, billed month-to-month, adding AI-powered call routing, advanced analytics, CRM integrations, call recording, and priority support; it is the stronger fit when those calling and support capabilities justify the higher monthly price. Enterprise has custom pricing and adds a dedicated account manager, custom integrations, SLA guarantees, advanced security, and vFax. Its terms are aimed at organizations that need tailored service commitments, not buyers seeking a published fax-only rate. There is no free plan.

Platforms

vFax supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. Mobile apps and browser access suit staff who need to handle faxes away from a desktop; email faxing also avoids the need for fax hardware.

Who it's for

OTG identifies healthcare, legal, finance and banking, and real estate as industries that rely on vFax. Number porting, transmission receipts, access controls, and audit logs are useful for organizations that need to keep fax workflows accountable. OTG support hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM–8 PM EST, and Saturday, 10 AM–4 PM EST. Organizations outside GoOTG should weigh the lack of a clear standalone fax subscription against alternatives with fax-specific plans.

Pros and cons

Pro: vFax is included free with every GoOTG plan, with a local or toll-free number and inbound and outbound faxing.
Pro: Email and browser workflows, mobile apps, and number porting support teams with different ways of handling fax traffic.
Pro: Delivery receipts and the stated encryption, access controls, and audit logs provide useful operational and security safeguards.
Con: The value proposition is tied to GoOTG plans; organizations seeking a standalone fax subscription do not get an equally clear fax-specific price and quota comparison.
Con: The email workflow is described around PDF attachments, which may not suit teams needing other document formats in that channel.

Alternatives

Online Fax Services is a useful starting point for comparing fax tools. Consider InterFAX if prepaid sending without monthly minimums or fees matters more than GoOTG integration. DialPhone Online Fax is an option for teams that can use its Basic plan at 9.99 USD per month billed annually, with a 1,500-minute per-user monthly fair-use cap.

Dropbox Fax (formerly HelloFax) is worth considering if a free sending-only allowance of five outbound pages is enough; inbound faxing requires a paid account. ETHERFAX is another paid cloud-fax option. FAX.PLUS suits readers who want a free allowance of 10 total pages or a paid plan with a 30-day free period. GTC Cloud-Fax offers package choices measured at 30 or 100 fax pages per month, with custom pricing.

FaxTerra has a free plan with 10 monthly pages to the US and Canada, making it a better fit for light sending in those destinations. OVHcloud Fax is an alternative for buyers who want a dedicated fax number and email or PC sending and receiving under a paid monthly plan.

Verdict

Choose vFax if your organization already uses GoOTG and wants inbound and outbound faxing, number management, and security controls included in that service. Its strongest reason to buy is the stated no-extra-fee inclusion; its main reason to look elsewhere is the absence of a clear standalone fax plan for organizations that do not need GoOTG.
