In their own words
Otsimo Speech Therapy
Otsimo Speech Therapy is a mobile app intended to help children with pronunciation, speech production, and broader speech and language skills. Its activities span more than 15 categories and 200 exercises covering communication, interaction, turn-taking, and speech. During practice, a child on screen models a sound or word for the user to imitate. Speech and voice recognition with machine learning assesses what the child says and adjusts activities. An optional developmental test can guide a tailored practice path; the maker recommends it for personalization. The app requests camera and microphone access during practice to understand the child’s speech. Otsimo designs its apps for ages 1 to 8 and says children up to age 15 may also use them. The app focuses on articulation, tracks progress, and supports offline access. It is available in English on iOS and Android phones and tablets, not desktop computers. An account can be used on up to three devices when signing in with the same method. The FAQ presents the app as support where therapy is hard to access and says it does not replace care from a speech-language pathologist. Speech therapy games are also available through Alexa apps on Amazon Echo devices.
