In their own words
Pasta
Pasta is a clipboard history manager for macOS that keeps copied links, words and images available for searching and reuse. Users can search or filter saved items, then paste a selected clip, plain text or several clips at once. Previews cover links, images, code and colours, while automatic detection can identify items such as emails, JWTs, URLs and environment variables. Reusable snippets can include dates and placeholders, with optional keyword expansion. Clipboard contents are stored on the device by default, and no account is required. Sensitive items are skipped by default; iCloud sync, Tailnet Sync, crash reports and analytics remain off until enabled. Optional iCloud sync can combine Mac and iPhone clipboard history. Tailnet Sync pairs Macs through Tailscale discovery and target approval. Pasta is free and open source under the MIT License. It supports macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later and iOS. The security policy says its local database and images are not encrypted at rest by Pasta and recommends FileVault.
Pasteable
Pasteable saves copied text, rich text, HTML, images, files, URLs, and code in a searchable clipboard history. It offers full-text and on-device semantic search, including searches for images by description. Smart collections sort clips into groups such as Photos, Code, Links, Files, and Design; users can also create collections with custom rules. On desktop, ⌘/Ctrl+Shift+V opens a keyboard-driven overlay, and system-wide snippets can expand saved clips. Clip history is stored locally in SQLite, works offline without an account, and is encrypted at rest with an operating-system-sealed key. The maker says synced clips are encrypted on the device and its servers store only ciphertext. The free plan includes unlimited local history and 25 synced clips. Pasteable Pro costs $6 a month or $60 a year; Lifetime costs $80.00 USD one-time. The site lists macOS 11+, Windows 10 and 11, and 64-bit Linux, and says iOS and Android apps are in App Store and Play Store review.
