In their own words
Patch My PC
Patch My PC automates packaging, deployment, and updates for third-party applications across managed devices. Its Publisher integrates with Microsoft ConfigMgr, Intune, and WSUS. Patch My PC Cloud is a SaaS portal aimed mainly at Intune customers and can also extend ConfigMgr capabilities. The pricing page lists a curated catalog of 3,782 supported products. Publisher can package applications for x86, x64, and ARM64 architectures; Cloud can create custom packages for ConfigMgr or Intune. Cloud can also publish macOS applications to Intune, including DMG and PKG apps for Intel and Apple Silicon. Enterprise subscriptions include unlimited support from in-house engineers, setup assistance, and environment reviews. The company says it aims to release updates on the same day as vendors, generally between 1:00 and 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. A 30-day business trial includes all features and supported products. Enterprise Plus starts at 3,500 USD per year for up to 1,000 devices; Enterprise Premium starts at 5,000 USD per year for up to 1,000 devices.
Topgrade
Topgrade is a free command-line tool that detects tools in use and runs the commands needed to update them. Run it with the `topgrade` command. The project provides self-updating binaries, source installation, and package-manager options; release binaries cover macOS, Windows, Linux, and FreeBSD. Its example configuration includes Arch package managers, DNF, Nix, Homebrew, Flatpak, and Winget. Topgrade can pull or fetch configured Git repositories, and custom commands can run before, during, or after its built-in commands. It can use SSH to run Topgrade on configured remote hosts before acting locally. On first run, it creates a configuration file if one is missing and also loads and merges files from `topgrade.d`. The project describes itself as a fork of r-darwish's Topgrade that aims to keep the tool maintained. Its example configuration advises against running it as root on Unix, since it invokes sudo or an equivalent where needed. Only the latest version is supported, and fixes are not backported.
