In their own words
PayJustNow
PayJustNow lets shoppers split purchases into instalments at participating South African online and in-store retailers. Pay in 3 charges one third at checkout and collects the other two payments automatically on the shopper’s salary date. The plan is listed at free, with 0% interest and no fees when paid on time. Signup requires a valid South African ID, South African cellphone number and email address, and a South African-issued Visa or Mastercard. Pay in 12 divides a purchase into 12 monthly payments: the first is paid upfront, and the other 11 are collected by debit order. Its personalised interest rate is shown when an account is opened, and it is available for online purchases at participating partner stores in South Africa. The Android, iOS, and web app includes QR checkout, exclusive offers, in-app support, and a wallet for store-approved returns. Late or missed payments may incur fees; missed Pay in 12 payments may also be reported to the Credit Bureau.
Tamara
Tamara is a payment solution that lets shoppers split purchases into installments at participating stores. It supports online and in-store checkout at most stores across Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and its listed consumer regions also include Kuwait and Bahrain. Repayment periods include 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, and 24 months. Pay in 3 is free for three equal monthly payments at 0% APR, subject to eligibility and the merchant’s offer. The stated maximum spending limit is SAR 50,000, subject to merchant availability, credit score, and payment history. Tamara says missed payments do not incur late fees, though repeated delays may suspend an account and affect credit score. Exclusive Deals may apply automatically at checkout or through promo codes. For merchants, Tamara Business offers online, in-store, and QR payment options, saved cards, Mada, Apple Pay, and one-click checkout. Merchants are paid upfront when customers split purchases into installments. Integrations include Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Salla, Zid, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Paymob, OpenCart, ExpandCart, Geidea, and Network International. The service is available on web, iOS, and Android.
