Pixelcut
Pixelcut is an AI photo and video editor focused on product photography, with tools for background removal, upscaling, image expansion, retouching, product shots, ads, and video. Its web background remover accepts JPG, PNG, and HEIC images up to 50 MB and 6000 × 6000 pixels, and offers free HD downloads without a watermark or sign-up. The editor can upscale images up to 16×, use generative fill for retouching, generate shadows, and batch edit hundreds of files. The background-removal page lists bulk processing for up to 10,000 images in one batch, with ZIP export. The API costs 5 credits per image, shown as $0.05 per image, and accepts PNG or JPEG inputs; outputs include transparent PNG, alpha masks, and ZIP files. Pixelcut is available on Android, iOS, and web, with API access. Its free plan includes limited background removal and upscaling, with exports without a watermark. Pixelcut describes its intended users as sellers, creators, and brands working on product photos, e-commerce catalogs, ads, and social content.
Transparent Background
Transparent Background is a free Python package that removes backgrounds from images and video using InSPyReNet. It accepts individual files, folders of images or videos, and webcam addresses through its command-line interface; it also offers a Python API and optional GUI. Outputs include transparent RGBA images, saliency maps, green or white backgrounds, blurred or overlaid backgrounds, and composites with another image. The available model modes are base, fast, and base-nightly, with support for custom checkpoints. Static resizing is the default and favors stability over detail; dynamic resizing may sharpen edges but can be unstable. The package supports batch processing and PNG, JPG/JPEG, and MP4 inputs. RGBA output is not supported for video or webcam input. Webcam support is optional, described as unstable, and limited to Linux. Installations are available from PyPI, GitHub, or a local clone, with CPU-only and GPU setup instructions. It runs on Linux, macOS, Windows, and self-hosted systems. The listed plan is free.
