Practice CS is practice management software for accounting firms, available on the web and Windows with hybrid deployment. It tracks billable time, billing, deadlines, and the costs associated with firm work. Customizable dashboards show current information about operations, staff projects, and client statuses. Firms can create electronic invoices, post bills online, and accept credit card payments. Detailed business data supports custom report formatting. Optional Project Management and Staff Management modules track projects and tasks, schedule staff, and assign work. Workflow automation, scenario modeling, multi-year projection, tax depreciation, and data import are listed capabilities. Client portals support file sharing and electronic signatures through related products and modules. Client Management and Mobile CS provide status monitoring and real-time updates about client interactions. Practice CS can launch UltraTax CS and Accounting CS, and integrates with Accounting CS and Workpapers CS. Pricing is paid and available on request.
Xero Practice Manager
Xero Practice Manager is web-based practice management software for accounting and bookkeeping firms in Xero’s partner program. It is now integrated into Xero Partner Hub, where practices can manage jobs, client work and compliance tasks. Staff can be assigned jobs, check schedules and availability, and set deadlines and milestones. Time can be recorded by duration or start and stop time, then used to create progress or final invoices with fixed prices, rates and markups. Reporting covers jobs, time, costs, productivity and recoverable costs, with options to run standard reports, customise samples or create reports. Practices can configure statuses, categories, templates, workflows and branded documents such as quotes and engagement letters. Invoices and client details sync with the firm’s Xero accounts, and paid invoices appear in Partner Hub. Xero Tax and Xero Workpapers, powered by BGL, are included at no extra cost with the subscription.
