Overview

Presel’s focus is the full response workflow rather than AI drafting alone: Bid Manager takes teams from RFP intake through requirement mapping, evidence-backed responses, quality checks, and Word export. Document conversion and diagramming broaden its usefulness outside active bids. The trade-off is a free tier that excludes projects and organization seats, so teams cannot use it as a no-cost trial of the core bid workflow beyond the seven-day Pro trial.

Key features

Bid Manager combines requirement extraction and mapping with evidence-backed drafting and quality gates. That structure is useful when responses need to be organized and reviewed, while the reusable content library and approval workflow support consistency across work. Word export is controlled, which makes the workflow more suitable for teams delivering formal bid documents than for users who only want an AI writing assistant.

Presel converts Markdown into editable Word and PDF files and can turn Word documents back into Markdown. Mermaid and PlantUML diagrams can be created, previewed, and included in documents. Together, these tools give document and technical teams a reason to use Presel between bids, although the free plan's 50 MB personal drive and single knowledge base limit how much material can be kept there.

Users can connect their own Cursor, OpenAI, or Anthropic provider, or work offline. Optional LLM providers process prompts sent through AI features according to the user's configuration. Accounts require verified email and password; organization roles control invites and settings, and workspaces can separate RFPs, knowledge bases, and Drive files by organization. Presel says it does not sell personal data and retains account and workspace data while an account is active. Enterprise SAML/OIDC SSO is on the roadmap, not available in self-serve plans, so organizations that require it now should look elsewhere.

Pricing

The Free plan is free and is a document toolkit, not a bid workspace: it includes a 50 MB personal drive, one knowledge base, Markdown-to-Word/PDF conversion, Word-to-Markdown import, and a UML editor, but no RFP projects or organization seats. It is appropriate for individual document work, not team bid management.

The Trial is free and provides everything in Pro for 7 days, including an organization workspace and invites, with no credit card required. If the user does not upgrade, the account returns to Free toolkit limits. It is the only no-cost route to evaluating the team workflow.

Plus costs 19.00 USD per month, billed at $19/ seat / mo, with annual checkout saving about 20%. It includes 5 GB of drive storage, three knowledge bases, two RFP or proposal projects, one workspace seat, and Word export. This suits a solo user with occasional bids, but the one-seat limit prevents team collaboration and the two-project cap constrains concurrent work.

Pro costs 49.00 USD per month, billed at $49/ seat / mo, with annual checkout saving about 20%. It raises storage to 50 GB, makes RFPs and knowledge bases unlimited, includes up to five seats, and adds the AI proposal suite, quality gates, shared organization workspaces, and priority email support. For a working bid team, this is the clearest fit; the per-seat price and five-seat inclusion make larger teams weigh Enterprise.

Enterprise costs 99.00 USD per month, billed at $99/ seat / mo, with volume pricing available. It includes unlimited seats, 500 GB of drive storage, a dedicated success manager, custom SLA and DPA, admin controls, and audit support. SSO/SAML remains roadmap work scoped with sales rather than a current self-serve capability. Buyers needing those enterprise controls should confirm requirements before choosing it. Self-serve documentation is available, and security or legal reviews are directed to sales.

Platforms

Presel runs on the web. That keeps the listed workflow centered on a browser-based workspace rather than desktop-specific apps.

Who it's for

Presel is aimed at bid managers, commercial teams, and solution architects. It is strongest for teams that need RFP intake, mapped requirements, reusable evidence, review gates, and controlled Word output in one workflow. Individuals mainly seeking document conversion can stay on Free; teams that need a general document workspace without RFP projects may find the bid-oriented plans excessive.

Pros and cons

Pros

Structured response workflow: intake, requirement mapping, evidence-backed drafting, quality gates, and Word export cover more of a bid cycle than drafting alone.
Useful adjacent tools: Markdown/Word/PDF conversion and Mermaid or PlantUML diagramming extend the toolkit beyond RFP projects.
Choice of AI setup: users can bring Cursor, OpenAI, or Anthropic providers, or work offline.
Clear team threshold: Pro includes shared workspaces and up to five seats, while Free explicitly excludes organization seats and projects.

Cons

Free does not include the core bid workspace: no RFP projects or organization seats, and only 50 MB of personal storage and one knowledge base.
Plus is restrictive for teams: one seat and two projects make it a solo, limited-volume option.
Enterprise SSO is not ready: SAML/OIDC is on the roadmap, which can rule Presel out for organizations requiring it now.

Alternatives

1up is worth considering when a team wants an extension as well as web access and a free plan with 50 knowledge uploads and 50 answers per month; its listed MCP plan costs 50.00 USD per month plus automation usage.

RFP Response Builder is an option for buyers who need macOS, Windows, or web access; its listed Business plan costs 39.00 USD per month, while the free trial lasts 14 days and the Business Plan requires five users minimum.

Winify AI is another web-based paid option with a free plan and free trial.

BidGenie may suit teams that prefer a trial bounded by credits and RFP volume: its free trial provides 60 one-time credits, up to three RFPs per month, and one team member.

ProposalWorkspace is an extension-and-web alternative whose Solo plan costs 99.00 USD per month, billed yearly at $1,188, and includes two seats and 700 AI credits per month.

RFP.ai is an option for teams seeking API, extension, and web access; its Starter plan costs 49.00 EUR per month and includes five users, unlimited projects, 1M tokens, and 1K pages per month.

Steerlab offers a free trial in which the first RFP or questionnaire is included, with no credit card required.

DeepRFP is another web-based paid option with a free trial.

Verdict

Presel is a strong fit for bid teams that want structured response production alongside document and diagram tools, with Pro the practical starting point for shared work. Choose it for its end-to-end bid workflow and flexible AI setup; look elsewhere if you need a substantial free team tier or currently available enterprise SSO.
