Overview

Rather than scrolling at a fixed pace, VoicePrompter follows speech against the full script. That is useful for presenters who pause or vary their pace, and makes it a better fit for natural delivery than a prompter that simply advances on a timer. The feature set spans browser, desktop and mobile, though capabilities are not identical on every platform.

Key features

The browser app combines mirror mode, voice commands, automatic detection for 34 languages and built-in video recording. It can be installed as a PWA and used offline afterward, giving users a practical browser-based option when connectivity is a concern. Firefox is a clear exception: it supports manual scrolling, but not voice control.

Square-bracketed text appears as a cue but is skipped during voice scrolling, so a script can include reminders without treating them as spoken content. On iPhone, recording supports up to 4K, any lens and 10-bit HDR. The iPhone and Android apps can float a picture-in-picture prompter over other apps while filming, which suits people recording on a phone without giving up access to another app.

The Mac app says its window is excluded from screen capture and stays invisible during sharing and recordings. It also works with FaceTime, Zoom and Teams without plugins or modifications; Google Meet, Loom and Riverside are also listed. That makes the Mac version relevant to people presenting on calls, though the invisible window behavior is specifically described for the Mac app.

The privacy policy says personal data is not collected, stored or sold, and web voice audio and transcriptions are not transmitted to backend servers. Android recognition is less predictable: it depends on the device and installed language service, and some combinations may require a connection. Non-native speakers may value the language detection, but should account for that Android limitation if choosing a phone-based workflow.

Pricing

VoicePrompter has two free routes. The Web app is free, has no fees or account requirement, and works offline as a PWA. The separate Free plan also is free and allows three custom scripts, voice scrolling and a floating mobile prompter. The Web app is the stronger fit for someone who needs browser access without an account; the three-script plan is enough for occasional users with a small active script library.

Pro costs 3.34 USD per month, billed $3.34/mo, and adds unlimited scripts while retaining voice scrolling and mobile overlay. It suits regular presenters whose script count exceeds the free cap. Lifetime costs 99.99 USD per once, billed $99.99 one-time, with the same stated unlimited-script, voice-scrolling and mobile-overlay features; it is for buyers who prefer a one-time payment over the monthly plan. The free options give up unlimited scripts.

Platforms

VoicePrompter supports web, Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. Web includes offline PWA use after installation; iPhone adds the specified high-resolution recording options, and both mobile platforms support floating overlays. Firefox's manual-only scrolling and Android's service-dependent recognition are the main platform qualifications.

Who it's for

The maker targets creators, sales representatives, webinar hosts, podcasters, course creators and non-native speakers presenting on camera. In practice, it is most compelling for people who want speech-following rather than timed scrolling, especially those who record on a phone or present from a Mac. It is a weaker choice for Firefox users who require voice control or Android users whose device and language service do not reliably support recognition.

Pros and cons

Pros: Full-script voice tracking adapts to pauses and changes in pace, making delivery less dependent on a preset scroll speed.
Pros: The free browser app includes recording, 34-language detection and offline PWA use, while the mobile apps add floating overlays.
Pros: The Mac app's screen-capture exclusion is useful for people sharing or recording their screen during a presentation.
Cons: Firefox has no voice control, so users of that browser must scroll manually.
Cons: Android recognition depends on device and language-service support, and some combinations need a connection.
Cons: The Free plan caps custom scripts at three; unlimited scripts require Pro or Lifetime.

Alternatives

Teleprompter Software is the broader category page for readers comparing prompters. Choose Teleprompter.com if cloud script storage, custom fonts and colors or remote control matter; its Starter plan is free and includes recordings with a watermark. EasyPrompter is a fit for someone comfortable with a free plan limited to two saved scripts, 500 promptable words per script and read-only offline access.

FluidPrompter is worth considering for Linux users or anyone who wants a free starter plan with keyboard and mouse controls, accepting a one-prompter and 600-word limit. PromptSmart is a paid alternative with no free plan. Speakflow may suit users seeking a free tier with limited Flow and seven-day script history, or a Plus plan at 19.00 USD per month for recording and storage of one hour of video.

Teleprompterly is the alternative to consider for a free-forever option with unlimited script length and video and audio recording downloads. CuePrompter offers free browser recording and Smart Follow capped at three minutes per session. OtO is another alternative for readers comparing teleprompter tools.

Verdict

VoicePrompter is a strong choice for creators and presenters who want a script to follow their voice, with particularly useful options for phone recording and browser-based use. Its free entry points and low-cost unlimited-script plans make it easy to match the commitment to the workload. Look elsewhere if Firefox voice control is a requirement or Android recognition must work consistently across devices and language services.
