In their own words

QMedia

QMedia is an open-source multimedia AI search engine for content creators. It searches and extracts information from text, images, and short videos, combining those formats in a multimodal retrieval and question-answering system. Its web service displays content and sources as cards with image, text, and short-video breakdowns. The project can run locally for offline search and question answering over private data. The web service, RAG search and Q&A service, and image, text, and video model service can be deployed separately. The standalone model service offers an API for image and text encoding, video transcription, and image OCR. Documented model options include CLIP, BGE, Qanything OCR, LLaVA, and Faster Whisper, with local Ollama model switching. Google content search is configurable but disabled by default, as is video service use in the RAG server configuration. The RAG service depends on a separate mm_server service. QMedia is self-hosted, available through its web service, and licensed under MIT.

ViSearch

ViSearch turns video into searchable transcripts, summaries, chapters, and quizzes. Search includes full-text, semantic, and visual modes, including searches across a video library. It transcribes and translates in more than 90 languages, adds speaker labels, and exports TXT, DOCX, or PDF files. Users can generate timestamped chapters, structured summaries, and multiple-choice, true/false, or open-ended quiz questions linked to video timestamps; the site says quizzes integrate with any LMS. Upload common video and audio formats or provide YouTube, Google Drive, iCloud, or direct file URLs. Videos can be up to 10 hours long, while the no-sign-up trial is limited to 10 minutes and the signed-up free allowance to 20 minutes. ViSearch also lists iframe embedding, REST API integration, and on-premise deployment for teams. The free plan includes up to 20 minutes of video processing with no credit card required. Paid processing is $0.09 for Basic, $0.15 for Pro, and $0.25 for Visual. The operator is Kobaltstack LLC, based in New York.
