RAM Tracking
RAM Tracking provides vehicle tracking, fleet and driver management, dash cams, and job management for trades, field service, fleet, haulage, and logistics businesses. Vehicle tracking offers live GPS locations, alerts, and performance reports; the Lite tier updates every two minutes and stores three months of reporting history. Job Management includes scheduling, digital job sheets, proof of work, quoting, and invoicing. Dash cam packages range from SD-card footage retrieval to connected cameras with live streaming and remote downloads. The Android and iOS app provides fleet maps, nearest-vehicle search, alerts, reports, and route information, but live locations require internet access and an existing RAM account. Lite tracking is desktop-only. Listed plans include Lite and SD at £7.99/month, Starter at £25 per user/month, Innovator at £35 per user/month, and Professional at £55 per user/month. RAM also offers APIs and financial integrations.
Traccar
Traccar is GPS tracking software for monitoring devices through a self-hosted server or managed hosting. It shows device positions in real time on road maps or satellite imagery, alongside sensor readings and other tracker data. Alerts can flag geofence crossings, harsh driving, fuel drops, and maintenance events. Trip records, charts, summaries, and location history are available for review, with report export to Excel. Traccar works with trackers from manufacturers including Teltonika, Jimi IoT, Ruptela, Queclink, Suntech, and TopFlyTech across more than 200 protocols. Its server runs on Windows or Linux, on owned hardware or in the cloud. Android and iOS apps require a Traccar server; a separate client app can make a smartphone act as a tracker. The API supports service functions and live updates. The server is free and open source for private or commercial use. Managed plans are listed at $9.95 a month for a shared account and $49.95 a month for a dedicated server.
