Overview

Red Center combines live MRR, churn, trial and cohort metrics with segments by country, store and plan. It also attributes saves to retention flows, so teams can relate interventions to outcomes rather than rely on a dashboard alone. Cohort analysis, retention and churn metrics, and unit economics broaden its usefulness beyond monitoring billing failures.

RedChurn reads subscription events and provider webhooks without changing products, prices or subscriptions. That makes it a companion to an existing billing setup, not a replacement for one. It is designed for mobile subscriptions, with web and API also among its platforms.

Key features

Billing recovery and cancellation saves

When a webhook signals a billing issue, RedChurn can send a dunning email or show a card-update prompt the next time the subscriber opens the app. Cancellation prevention combines native iOS and Android save screens with email follow-ups within 48 hours. The use of Apple and Google native flows, which RedChurn says meet store requirements, is useful for teams that want to intervene without inventing their own cancellation path.

Trial retention and win-back

For trials, RedChurn can send reminder emails three days and one day before the trial ends, and offer an in-app save flow when someone taps to cancel. After a subscription expires, it can run multi-step email sequences and show in-app prompts on return visits; reactivation is tracked in Red Center. These flows cover several points where a mobile subscriber might otherwise be lost, though the email and in-app options depend on the billing integration.

Integrations and delivery

RevenueCat supports email and in-app flows; Superwall and Polar support email. Teams choosing either of the latter should account for the narrower flow options. Emails can come from the customer’s domain through Resend, while push uses the customer’s FCM and APNs credentials. The optional SDK is under 200 KB, and setup can begin without an app release, reducing the initial integration burden.

Pricing

Starter: 0.00 USD per free, billed monthly. It includes up to 50 active subscribers, one app and 30 days of retention history; app install attribution is marked as coming soon. This is a sensible way for a very small app to start tracking and trying retention flows, but the subscriber ceiling, single-app limit and short history make it a poor fit for a growing portfolio or longer-term cohort analysis.

Growth: custom pricing, available from 500 subscribers. It includes unlimited apps and three years of retention history, making it the more suitable tier for teams beyond Starter’s scale or managing multiple apps. Pricing and other terms are not given here, so teams will need a quote before comparing its cost with alternatives.

Platforms

RedChurn supports Android, iOS, web and API. Its native save flows are specifically for iOS and Android, matching its mobile-app focus. Push delivery requires the customer’s FCM and APNs credentials.

Who it's for

RedChurn is a good fit for mobile subscription teams that want to connect churn reporting with billing recovery, trial saves and win-back actions while keeping their existing products, prices and subscriptions intact. It is less compelling for businesses that need a broad platform-independent retention workflow, or for apps that have already outgrown the free tier but cannot establish Growth pricing in advance.

Pros and cons

Pros: Metrics and save attribution sit alongside recovery and retention flows, helping teams connect reporting to action.
Pros: Native cancellation saves, email follow-ups, trial reminders and win-back prompts address distinct points in the subscription lifecycle.
Pros: Webhook-based access leaves products, prices and subscriptions unchanged; the optional SDK is under 200 KB and setup can start without an app release.
Cons: Starter’s 50-active-subscriber cap, one-app limit and 30-day history constrain its usefulness as a service grows.
Cons: Superwall and Polar support email flows only, unlike RevenueCat’s email and in-app support.
Cons: Growth has custom pricing, making its cost harder to assess before contacting the team.

Verdict

Choose RedChurn if you run a mobile subscription app and want churn, trial and revenue metrics tied to practical recovery and retention flows without changing your billing setup. The combination is its strongest reason to choose it; the main reason to look elsewhere is scale or budget uncertainty, since Starter is limited to 50 active subscribers and Growth requires custom pricing.
