In their own words

RewritePal

RewritePal is a writing assistant for paraphrasing, grammar correction, AI text humanization, and editing longer documents. Its editor offers preset and custom tones, role and language options, and controls for making output shorter or longer. It is described as serving students, professionals, marketers, and others seeking clearer writing. RewritePal is available on Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, the web, Windows, and as an extension. The Chrome extension can rewrite selected text in supported fields, run optional local English Inline Fix checks, or use a popup in unsupported editors. In Google Docs, Selection Rewrite and Inline Fix are not supported, though the popup remains available. AI rewriting happens after the user selects a rewrite action, and internet access is required even in the installed web app. RewritePal says submitted writing is not used to train its own AI models and is not intentionally retained in its application database or logs after processing, except for saved documents and custom tones. AI providers may process submitted text, and the policy does not promise zero retention for every request.

Sapling

Sapling combines writing assistance for teams with developer tools for adding language model-powered features to applications. Its writing tools include grammar and spelling corrections, autocomplete, rephrasing, tone and sentiment checks, and AI content detection. Style suggestions and tone detection are available, with support for 14 languages. Developers can access HTTP API endpoints and SDK components, including Python and JavaScript client libraries. Sapling lists 73 integration guides, with examples for Zendesk, Salesforce, Slack, Google Docs, Microsoft Word and browser extensions. It is available on the web, through extensions and Windows, via API, and in self-hosted deployments. Sapling says it uses TLS encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest, and describes GDPR compliance and SOC 2 Type II certification. Enterprise accounts include audit logs, role-based access and single sign-on. The free plan has AI detector limits; paid writing assistance starts at $12/user/mo billed annually, and a 30-day trial is listed. API trials have a character limit and expire after one month.
