IntegrationsThe project documents a ratatui integration widget and a Claude Code teammate mode that runs Claude inside a local RMUX workspace.Integrations use templates to configure CLI commands and arguments, and GitHub is enabled as a code forge by default.
LicenseRMUX is dual-licensed under MIT or Apache License 2.0.The repository identifies the project as MIT licensed.
LimitThe Python and TypeScript SDKs require the RMUX binary to be installed first.Session data accumulates and must be deleted manually until automatic cleanup is implemented.
PlatformsRMUX documents native support for Windows, macOS, and Linux; Windows uses ConPTY and named pipes, while macOS and Linux use Unix PTYs and Unix-domain sockets. The README lists a browser frontend, Electron desktop apps for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and an Android mobile app.
SecurityDuring Web Share, shells and PTYs stay on the local daemon while the browser decrypts encrypted terminal updates locally; tunnels carry encrypted frames. The maker says authentication is supported but not hardened for untrusted networks, and advises against publicly exposing the frontend and backend.

In their own words

RMUX

RMUX is a local terminal multiplexer that keeps shells under a daemon on the user’s machine. Version 0.10.0 provides 90 tmux-compatible commands for persistent sessions that can be detached and reattached. Its automation SDKs let programs work with typed session, window, and pane handles, send keyboard and mouse input, wait for output, capture structured snapshots, and receive pane events. Official SDKs are available for Rust, Python, and TypeScript; the Python and TypeScript SDKs require the RMUX binary to be installed first.

Web Share creates browser links to a pane or session while its shell stays local. Links can allow read-write operation or read-only viewing, with separate pairing PINs enabled by default. The browser decrypts terminal updates locally. Sharing can use private Tailscale access, public SSH tunnel presets, or a user-provided ingress URL. RMUX says tunnels can see handshake metadata and encrypted frames, but not keystrokes, PINs, raw tokens, or terminal cells. The Web Share frontend can be self-hosted. RMUX is dual-licensed under MIT or Apache-2.0 and is available through package managers, prebuilt installers, or Cargo.

TermStation

TermStation is a web-based terminal session manager with an API for organizing sessions across multiple machines. Configurable templates set CLI commands and arguments, then shape the forms used to create sessions. Session and workspace scratch pads, session links, and file generation with macros and includes support day-to-day work. It can launch commands in containers and route HTTP access to web servers in those containers through a reverse tunnel. Multiple users can work with role-based access and share sessions. Configurable code-forge integrations include GitHub by default; the maker also demonstrates installing Claude, Codex, and Cursor in a container. TermStation is open source under the MIT license and free. It is marked pre-alpha and not ready for general distribution. Backend requirements include Ubuntu 22.04+ or Rocky Linux 10+, Node.js 22+, and Docker or Podman. Authentication exists, but the maker says it is not hardened for untrusted networks and advises against public exposure. Session data must be deleted manually until automatic cleanup is implemented.
