In their own words
Rockwell Automation Finite Scheduler
Rockwell Automation Finite Scheduler is a containerized API application for finite-capacity manufacturing scheduling. It uses process data to improve scheduling accuracy, throughput and on-time delivery, and is ERP and MES agnostic. Scheduling can consider workforce availability and equipment downtime in addition to factors commonly handled by MRP systems. Resource constraints include equipment, tooling, storage devices, labor pools and skilled or certified employees. Process models can represent setup, cycle, teardown or clean-down steps, capacity and buffer types, and wait-time constraints. The application rapidly generates or regenerates optimized schedules for changing business objectives. An interactive graphical interface lets users review schedules and participate in optimization. Rockwell presents it to manufacturers modernizing production scheduling, with goals including greater agility, lower work-in-process inventory, improved on-time delivery and shorter setup times. Pricing is available on request, with demos and expert discussions offered.
Sepasoft MES
Sepasoft MES controls, tracks, and documents the conversion of raw materials into finished goods in real time. Its modules address OEE and downtime, batch procedures, traceability, statistical process control, settings and changeovers, and business connectivity. Listed capabilities include work order and quality management, lot and serial traceability, shop-floor data capture, and real-time dashboards. The Business Connector links MES to ERP and other higher-level systems, while Web Services supports REST and SOAP. The Interface for SAP ERP provides native, bidirectional connectivity to on-premises SAP systems without additional middleware. MES Enterprise Central Server aggregates data from site-level systems for enterprise reporting and analysis. Sepasoft describes its site license as covering unlimited lines, machines, and users. The modules require Inductive Automation’s Ignition Platform; full visualization can use Ignition Vision or Perspective, although Batch Procedure is listed as compatible with Perspective but not Vision. An unlicensed module runs in demo mode for two hours at a time, and the demo can be restarted. Deployment is hybrid, and supported environments include API, Linux, self-hosted, web, and Windows.
