In their own words

SameBoy

SameBoy is a free, open-source emulator for Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Super Game Boy systems. Its supported machines include Game Boy Pocket and Light, Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Player in Color mode, and Super Game Boy 2. The project describes its design as focused on accuracy and says it passes multiple test ROM suites. It supports battery saves and save states that follow the BESS specification, as well as turbo, rewind, slow motion, cheats and rumble. Peripheral emulation includes local link cable, infrared, Game Boy Camera, Game Boy Printer and Workboy. Display options include scaling algorithms and filters, customizable controls and fullscreen mode; an integrated GBS player is also included. Developer tools include a disassembler, expression evaluator, breakpoints, watchpoints, call stack tracing, and memory and video RAM viewers. Builds are listed for macOS, Windows and iOS, and the project describes SDL support for other operating systems. Some features are exclusive to the macOS Cocoa frontend, while camera and printer emulation are available in Cocoa macOS and iOS frontends.

SkyEmu

SkyEmu is a free emulator for Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo DS systems. It runs on Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows, and can load ROMs compressed in ZIP archives. Graphics options include upscaling shaders, color correction, and screen ghosting. Controls include game controllers, rumble, configurable keybinds, and mobile on-screen controls. Four persistent save-state slots include screenshot previews. A REST-like API supports asynchronous scripting and automation, and listed integrations include Retro Achievements, a RetroArch/libretro core, and Google Drive save-state sync. The web app runs locally using WebAssembly and JavaScript, keeping files on the user's machine; its service worker enables offline use on more platforms. The project describes its focus as preserving these systems for future generations while providing a good user experience. It says Game Boy Advance emulation is significantly more accurate than its Game Boy and Game Boy Color emulation. Many Nintendo DS games still have mild graphics and audio issues, and DS emulation is beta quality.
