In their own words
ScePSX
ScePSX is a free, MIT-licensed PlayStation 1 emulator written in C#. It runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Android; Android requires version 5.0 or later, with 9.0 or later recommended. Users can save and load progress, manage multiple save files, use cheats, edit and search memory, and play online multiplayer. Supported game image formats include .bin/.cue, .img/.cue, .iso, and .chd. The emulator supports D2D, D3D, OpenGL, and Vulkan renderers, which can be switched dynamically. Hardware backends support output up to 4K, while the software backend offers xBR and JINC upscaling. PGXP geometry enhancement works on software and hardware backends and can be adjusted without restarting; ReShade effects work on D3D, OpenGL, and Vulkan. Controllers are described as plug-and-play, and keyboard bindings can be customized. ScePSX does not include BIOS files, so users must provide one. Optional GameDB and ControllerDB downloads are listed, and the project accepts bug reports, suggestions, and contributions through GitHub.
Vita3K
Vita3K is a free, experimental, open-source emulator for PlayStation Vita, with builds listed for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android. The project describes itself as hobby-driven, with developers deciding what to work on and when. Game compatibility varies: the FAQ says over 50% of tested games are marked playable, but not every title is supported and flawless play is not assured. Vita3K accepts .pkg, VCI, NoNpDrm, FAGDec, and manually decrypted games; Vitamin dumps are unsupported and Maidump is unstable. Some titles require PS Vita system modules installed with firmware packages. Keyboard and mouse work out of the box, and SDL3-compatible controllers are supported, with DualShock 4 and DualSense recommended. Vulkan is recommended when supported, while OpenGL remains available for older hardware. Ad-Hoc multiplayer is partly implemented and works with some commercial games through services such as ZeroTier or Tailscale. Users must dump their own commercial games; the project says it does not condone piracy. Minimum PC requirements include a 64-bit CPU, graphics capable of OpenGL 4.4 or Vulkan 1.0, and at least 4 GB RAM.
