In their own words
School Signals
School Signals brings school and classroom communication, events, and family participation into one platform for classrooms and districts. Its School Feed lets staff post to the whole school, a grade, a classroom, or a group, with delivery reports and notifications. Families and staff can exchange private messages, and updates can arrive by email, SMS, app push, or voice message; recipients can choose instant or daily notifications. The platform also includes event RSVPs, volunteering, calendars, online forms, documents, directories, PTA groups, athletics communication, and conference scheduling. AI tools assist with writing and translation and flag foul language for review. Listed translation coverage is 13 languages; the site describes 11 commonly spoken U.S. languages as the default, with more available on request. Schools can sync with PowerSchool, FACTS, and Blackbaud. Families can access the service on desktop, tablet, or mobile web without installing an app, or use the family and staff app for push notifications. Pricing starts at $14.95/mo, with no free plan and a 30-day trial.
Schoolzine SZapp
Schoolzine SZapp is a mobile hub for schools to communicate with parents. Schools can select modules such as newsletters, notices, calendars and timetables, then send targeted push notifications about school news and events. The app also supports a customizable home page, event bookings and document distribution. Schoolzine says SZapp can link with payment gateways, social media platforms and other school systems, though it does not name those systems on the product page. The app supports Apple and Android devices and is not available in desktop browsers. Schools may limit access to registered users, and locked schools or groups require a four-digit passcode. The product page states that SZapp offers multiple authentication methods and GDPR compliance; Schoolzine says it completed the Safer Technologies for Schools assessment process. SZapp is free to download and use for parents through participating schools. School pricing is available on request. Schoolzine describes its technical support as unlimited and says it supports schools in over 20 countries in multiple languages. The company was founded in January 2007.
