In their own words
Schoolkit
Schoolkit connects school districts with families through websites, mobile apps, messaging, and digital displays. Publishing website content can also send it to apps, displays, SMS, email, social media, or other listed channels. Website tools include intelligent search, media management, instant translation, single sign-on, accessibility, and calendars. Branded iOS and Android apps provide push notifications, Google Translate, and SMS fallback. Mass notifications support automated phone calls, SMS, email, app push, and attendance alerts; calls can use a recording or Amazon Polly text-to-speech, with the school number shown as caller ID. Digital displays can show announcements, news, calendar reminders, date and weather, and block rotations. Integrations include Google Workspace and Microsoft Entra single sign-on, calendars, forms, sheets, slides, YouTube, and related services. Schoolkit Helper guides publishing, while a Support Portal serves designated staff. The company describes Canadian ownership and hosting, with launch, upgrades, security, accessibility, troubleshooting, and support. Pricing is on request.
Schoolvoice
Schoolvoice is a school communication platform for connecting schools, teachers, parents, and students across Android, iOS, and web. It combines chat, voice messages, school channels, stories, a teacher drive, and live broadcasts. Messages can ask recipients to acknowledge or approve something, reply, or send absence and tardiness notes. Scheduling, reminders, message recall, approval workflows, delivery reports, and personalization are also listed. Schoolvoice can send an automatic SMS to parents who remain unreachable after an interval chosen by the school, and it names PowerSchool, OneRoster, and Excel as onboarding integrations. The Free plan costs nothing, billed Free Forever, and includes core features and unlimited parent messaging. Advanced costs $15 a year per student, billed once per year, and adds district-level and multi-school management, AI reports and insights, and priority support. Emergency alerts and payment requests are not included in Free; voice calls between parents and teachers, call recording, and transcripts are add-ons on both plans.
