In their own words
SchoolPost
SchoolPost is a communications hub for schools, parents, staff and pupils. It combines email, SMS, secure message history, and online reply and consent forms. Schools can target messages to classes, groups, individual students, parents or staff. Staff can monitor replies and send reminders, while parents reply online, manage contact preferences, choose daily or weekly summaries and filter messages by child. A secure mailbox provides access to sensitive messages and communication history. Parents can complete forms, and schools can publish exam results online. Teachers can send SMS messages while offsite on school trips. SchoolPost integrates with existing systems and school MIS data and works with a preferred MIS/SIS provider. Firefly says setup and maintenance require very little work. The service is available on Android, iOS and web. Pricing is on request, with a demo booking offered. Firefly says student personal data is not used for marketing, and records are deleted within 30 days after customer engagement ends.
Schoolzine SZapp
Schoolzine SZapp is a mobile hub for schools to communicate with parents. Schools can select modules such as newsletters, notices, calendars and timetables, then send targeted push notifications about school news and events. The app also supports a customizable home page, event bookings and document distribution. Schoolzine says SZapp can link with payment gateways, social media platforms and other school systems, though it does not name those systems on the product page. The app supports Apple and Android devices and is not available in desktop browsers. Schools may limit access to registered users, and locked schools or groups require a four-digit passcode. The product page states that SZapp offers multiple authentication methods and GDPR compliance; Schoolzine says it completed the Safer Technologies for Schools assessment process. SZapp is free to download and use for parents through participating schools. School pricing is available on request. Schoolzine describes its technical support as unlimited and says it supports schools in over 20 countries in multiple languages. The company was founded in January 2007.
