In their own words
Schoolvoice
Schoolvoice is a school communication platform for connecting schools, teachers, parents, and students across Android, iOS, and web. It combines chat, voice messages, school channels, stories, a teacher drive, and live broadcasts. Messages can ask recipients to acknowledge or approve something, reply, or send absence and tardiness notes. Scheduling, reminders, message recall, approval workflows, delivery reports, and personalization are also listed. Schoolvoice can send an automatic SMS to parents who remain unreachable after an interval chosen by the school, and it names PowerSchool, OneRoster, and Excel as onboarding integrations. The Free plan costs nothing, billed Free Forever, and includes core features and unlimited parent messaging. Advanced costs $15 a year per student, billed once per year, and adds district-level and multi-school management, AI reports and insights, and priority support. Emergency alerts and payment requests are not included in Free; voice calls between parents and teachers, call recording, and transcripts are add-ons on both plans.
Schoolzine SZapp
Schoolzine SZapp is a mobile hub for schools to communicate with parents. Schools can select modules such as newsletters, notices, calendars and timetables, then send targeted push notifications about school news and events. The app also supports a customizable home page, event bookings and document distribution. Schoolzine says SZapp can link with payment gateways, social media platforms and other school systems, though it does not name those systems on the product page. The app supports Apple and Android devices and is not available in desktop browsers. Schools may limit access to registered users, and locked schools or groups require a four-digit passcode. The product page states that SZapp offers multiple authentication methods and GDPR compliance; Schoolzine says it completed the Safer Technologies for Schools assessment process. SZapp is free to download and use for parents through participating schools. School pricing is available on request. Schoolzine describes its technical support as unlimited and says it supports schools in over 20 countries in multiple languages. The company was founded in January 2007.
