In their own words

SecureWipe

SecureWipe is a free, open-source tool for erasing disks on Linux and Windows 10/11. It identifies HDD, SSD, and NVMe drives by model and serial number, and detects LUKS, BitLocker, and SED encryption. For encrypted drives it offers Crypto Erase first. Other methods include ANSSI Level 1 and 2, NIST Clear and Purge, and custom two-to-seven-pass wipes for HDDs. The tool blocks erasure of the system disk and disables NIST Purge for USB and other removable drives. Because overwriting is ineffective with SSD and NVMe wear-leveling, it blocks overwrite passes on those media and offers firmware-level or crypto erase options. After erasure, it checks a random sample, 10% by default, and produces a timestamped PDF certificate with drive details, method, verification result, watermark, and SHA-256 QR code, plus a raw text log. It has graphical and terminal modes, supports French and English with automatic locale detection, and requires Python 3.10 or later. The GUI also requires customtkinter. Its README identifies GPL v3 licensing and provides the software without warranty.

XErase

XErase automates secure erasure for individual drives, enclosures and storage arrays. It supports Windows installation, PXE network boot, USB boot and stand-alone erasure stations. Stand-alone deployment offers more than 35 erasure and validation options, including NIST verification support; users can also create methods during use and configure methods based on NIST and DoD approaches. Erasure reports are tamper-proof and available in PDF, XML, CSV and TXT formats. In PXE and USB deployments, one server can remotely control hundreds of systems. PXE workflows can collect system and physical-condition information, run burn-in tests, inject drivers, and automate re-imaging and application installation. Per-device logs stay on the erasure station or PXE server; XErase does not provide a customer-data database. ERP connections include Makor, Razor and CycleLution, and database integration may require additional licensing. XErase requires Windows 10 or Windows Server, an x64 Intel or AMD processor and 8 GB of memory. Pricing is on request; an annual subscription is described, and a free-trial request form is available.
