Overview

Zno brings together client galleries, studio administration, website building, album design, AI-assisted editing and event sharing. Its print range includes photo prints, albums, photobooks, fine art albums, canvas, acrylic, metal and framed prints, calendars and print sets. Founded in San Jose in 2012, the company positions the suite for professional photographers rather than casual photo printing alone.

Key features

Galleries, proofing and sales

Zno Gallery supports image delivery, proofing, favorites, comments, downloads and download-activity tracking. Passwords, download PINs, size limits and watermarks give photographers useful control over access and sharing. Its eStore sells digital downloads and prints with 0% commission, and can fulfill through Zno or a preferred lab; Lightroom integration and third-party lab fulfillment add flexibility for studios that already have a print workflow.

Zno advertises a free start with no credit card required, but does not state storage or usage limits for that offer. That makes it worth considering for a trial run, but photographers planning to host large or long-running galleries should establish capacity before depending on it.

Studio and portfolio tools

Zno Manager combines online booking and scheduling with deposits or full session payments, branded invoices, e-signatures and client records. For a studio that wants administration alongside image delivery, that is a meaningful extension beyond a gallery service. Zno Website adds photographer templates, drag-and-drop editing, custom domains, free hosting with unlimited bandwidth and SSL certificates, making it relevant to photographers who also need a portfolio site.

Event sharing and album design

Zno Instant connects a camera to its mobile app through a Mobile Tethering Kit and uploads images to a shareable event gallery as they are taken. Guests can enter through a QR code, with public, password, face-match or selfie access settings and optional watermarks. Its eStore has 0% commission for digital downloads and print products, and Zno says it automatically fulfills print orders. Optional AI culling flags closed eyes, blur, duplicates and exposure problems; AI retouching costs extra. The event format suits sports, weddings, headshots and other occasions where guests expect quick access, but gallery packages and photo limits are not displayed on the opened Instant page, so costs and capacity need checking before booking multiple events.

Zno Designer provides cloud album design, Auto Fill, proofing, client comments and slideshow creation. One-click ordering through Zno or export to other labs gives photographers a choice between a direct print route and an outside supplier. Zno Pixel adds AI culling, image scoring, face indexing, editing profiles, and crop and straighten tools. It currently integrates with Lightroom Classic and supports recent Windows and macOS versions; Lightroom, Capture One and Photoshop integrations are described as future additions, so photographers dependent on those connections should not treat them as current capabilities.

Security and support

Zno says sign-in, sign-up and payment data are encrypted. Uploaded images and projects remain saved until the user deletes them, but ordered projects cannot be deleted. Support includes weekday phone service in regional hours, 24/7 email availability, live chat and support articles.

Pricing

Zno uses a freemium model. The Zno software free start costs 0.00 USD per free, with the option to upgrade when needed; Zno also offers a free trial. The free start is an appealing way to begin using the suite, but gallery storage and usage limits are unstated, so it is not possible to judge whether it will cover a high-volume studio without checking first.

Zno Instant gallery packages have custom pricing: photographers can buy one or multiple galleries, with larger packs saving more. The package prices and photo limits are not displayed on the opened page. That structure may suit event businesses with recurring demand, but buyers should confirm per-gallery capacity and total cost before committing.

Platforms

Zno lists Android, iOS, macOS, web and Windows support, with web, iOS and Android supported for its mobile-app and ordering offering. Pixel has a narrower stated scope: recent Windows and macOS versions, with Lightroom Classic as its current integration. Studios should assess each tool separately rather than assume every part of the suite runs on every platform.

Who it's for

Zno is best suited to professional photographers who want client galleries and print commerce alongside booking, album design or event sharing. It is particularly compelling for studios that can use several parts of the workflow and value a 0% commission storefront. A photographer who needs only a narrowly focused editor, gallery or print-ordering app may find the suite broader than necessary; Pixel is also a weaker fit for workflows that rely on integrations beyond Lightroom Classic today.

Pros and cons

Pros: Gallery delivery includes proofing, comments, favorites, downloads and activity tracking, covering more of the client handoff than a simple file link.
Pros: Gallery and Instant eStores charge 0% commission, and print fulfillment can run through Zno; Gallery also supports a preferred lab.
Pros: Manager covers booking, payments, invoicing, signatures and client records, while Website includes custom domains, unlimited-bandwidth hosting and SSL.
Cons: Gallery free-start storage and usage limits are unstated, making it hard to plan for a large archive or busy studio.
Cons: Instant package prices and photo limits are not displayed on the opened page, complicating event budgeting.
Cons: Pixel currently integrates with Lightroom Classic only, limiting its fit for photographers using Capture One or Photoshop-centered workflows.
Cons: AI retouching is a paid add-on, so the Instant AI offer does not include every editing capability at no extra cost.

Verdict

Choose Zno if you are a professional photographer who can make use of its connected galleries, business tools, design services and print fulfillment, especially when 0% commission sales matter. Look elsewhere if you need firm upfront limits and event pricing, or if your editing workflow depends on Pixel integrations beyond Lightroom Classic.
