In their own words
Session Buddy
Session Buddy is a free Chrome extension for saving and restoring browser tabs, managing bookmarks, and organizing browsing. Users can save complete sessions or selected tabs, then restore them to their original windows, one window, or the current window. Its history view can restore tabs from an earlier point. Collections organize bookmarks, while unified search covers open tabs, collections, and tab history. Tabs and collections can be imported or exported in more than 15 formats, including JSON, CSV, Markdown, and HTML. Version 4.1 added automatic local backups, alongside manual backup and restore. Collections, history, and settings remain on the device rather than external services. The extension requests browsing-history permission but says it cannot read webpage content or form entries. The Free plan costs nothing and requires no account. Cross-device sync is not available.
Tabblar
Tabblar helps users organize and manage browser tabs. It can group tabs by domain, topic, or custom rules, and fuzzy search can find titles, URLs, and page content. Users can save, name, and restore tab sessions, while inactive tabs can be suspended to free up RAM. The site says groups and sessions sync across Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. It also states that processing is local, personal data is not collected, and data is encrypted in transit and at rest. The Basic plan is free and includes unlimited tabs, five workspaces, one group, and tab search. Plus is $5 a month, Pro is $11 a month, and Max is $24 a month; the respective annual billing amounts listed are $70, $140, and $290. Pro lists custom rules and Max lists team sharing. The extension page links to Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. Windows, macOS, and Linux are marked as not currently available, while Android and iOS are listed as coming soon.
