In their own words
Sidebery
Sidebery is a free Firefox extension for managing tabs and bookmarks in a sidebar. Its panels can display tabs, bookmarks, and browsing history, with tabs shown as a flat list or tree. Users can group tabs under custom names, color and sort them, and automatically unload folded branches or inactive panels. Container features bind containers to panels, reopen URLs in selected containers, and set proxy or User-Agent settings. The extension also supports tab search, session restore, suspension, workspaces, snapshots, and optional cross-device synchronization. Context menus, mouse and keyboard controls, drag-and-drop behavior, and sidebar styles can be customized with variables and CSS. Data is stored locally by default; Firefox Sync or Google Drive can sync selected settings and tab data. The project is MIT-licensed. Firefox does not permit hiding the native horizontal tab bar, and some tab-moving add-ons may conflict.
TabXpert
TabXpert is a browser extension that saves sessions in real time and helps organize tabs and bookmarks. Saved sessions retain active tabs, groups, closed-tab history, and session bookmarks, and can be resumed after a window closes or crashes. Users can drag, merge, or move tab groups, save them as bookmark folders, and use auto-naming and auto-grouping. Search covers session, tab, and bookmark titles and URLs, including Chinese and Japanese. Cloud sync covers sessions, tabs, bookmarks, and tags across profiles, including active and closed sessions. The extension supports Chromium-based browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Opera, and Vivaldi, though TabXpert says it tests only in Chrome; Firefox is not supported. A free plan at free includes unlimited sessions. The pricing note says From $24/yr and a 14-day trial. Local and cloud backups require a paid subscription, and deleted sessions and session history are excluded from backups. TabXpert states that it cannot read page content, while session data includes tab and window titles, URLs, pinned status, and group metadata.
