In their own words
SilverBullet
SilverBullet is a Markdown knowledge system for personal notes, team wikis, product documentation, and family spaces. Each space is a folder of plain Markdown files that can be opened in other editors, with storage choices including a computer, a user’s server, or a hosting provider. Writing tools include live preview, tasks, templates, a daily journal, outlining, Vim mode, comments, and media support for images, PDFs, audio, and video. Pages connect through wiki links, linked mentions, transclusions, tags, and live queries; an object graph is experimental. Lua can add commands, widgets, and automations, while CSS customization is available through Space Style. The server supports accounts, shared spaces, comments, @-mentions, and edits that appear as teammates make them. It works in desktop and mobile browsers, can be installed as a PWA, and supports offline work that syncs on reconnection. SilverBullet is open source, with free plans for personal use, education, and self-hosting. Cloud on PikaPods is $2 a month; Desktop Pro is $50 a year.
Supernotes
Supernotes is a note-taking app that organizes ideas, records, tasks, and lists as digital notecards. Cards can include equations, tables, images, checklists, and emojis, with a soft limit of 1,200 characters. Users can tag, nest, and link cards, search them, and explore their connections with graph views. The apps work offline and merge changes and sync when a device reconnects. Cards can be shared for read-only access or collaborative editing in real time. Supernotes imports from Obsidian, Roam Research, Google Keep, Notion, or Markdown, and exports notes as PDF, JSON, or Markdown. It offers an API and lists integrations including Telegram, Raycast, Pipedream, email, SupaSend, and Funnel. The company says notes are encrypted in transit with SSL and at rest with AES-256, and staff do not access note content without express permission during support. The free Starter plan lists 100 cards. Unlimited costs £6 a month, billed as £72 billed annually, and includes unlimited cards, AI Superpowers, full API and integrations, and priority support.
