SimpleGradebook
SimpleGradebook is an online gradebook for teachers, students, parents, and administrators, available on Android, iOS, and the web. Teachers can create classes, provide assignment feedback, use rubrics and BC Ministry performance scales, and support student self-assessment and individualized programs. They can copy assignments, export gradebooks to Excel, print report cards, and generate missing-task reports. Parents and students can see grades, missing tasks, teacher feedback, and weekly report cards; Pro adds attendance views, messaging, and assignment uploads. Pro also includes attendance, parent notifications, referrals, observations, attachments, and printable class rosters. Administrators and counsellors can manage multiple schools and review at-risk reports and student watch lists. The free plan is free. School Pro is $3, paid once, and Single Teacher Pro is $40, paid once. User data is stored and processed on servers in Canada; the privacy policy describes encryption and account safeguards. The terms say the service is not a replacement for official school records or institutional systems.
ThinkWave
ThinkWave is cloud-based school administration software combining student administration, grades, attendance, teacher gradebooks, and student and parent portal access. Teachers can post assignments and handouts, collect student work online, and upload files up to 25 MB each; the school system includes 100 GB of storage. It generates customizable report cards and transcripts from grades, comments, attendance, and custom student data. Grading options include points, letter, pass-fail, and custom scales, with assignment weighting and term averages. Schools can send messages and announcements by class, group, or school, including group email. ThinkWave also offers a free online gradebook. Its platforms include Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows. A free 30-day trial of the school administration software includes all features. ThinkWave says it uses password-protected accounts and SSL encryption, stores data in Google Cloud data centers, and does not sell user data.
