| Deployment | Site24x7 describes itself as a purely SaaS service with no infrastructure or hardware to maintain. | Thanos runs in cloud-native and traditional environments, including Kubernetes and bare metal. |
| Integrations | Official integrations include ServiceNow, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, Jira, Zendesk, Freshservice, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, Discord, Zapier, Amazon EventBridge, webhooks and Azure Log Analytics. | The integrations documentation describes StoreAPI connections, including Geras for OpenTSDB and a proxy for Prometheus remote read. |
| Purpose | Site24x7 provides Kubernetes observability across infrastructure, control plane, Kubernetes objects, and application layers. | Thanos is an open-source set of components for building highly available Prometheus setups with long-term storage. |
| Security | Site24x7 states that customer data is protected with AES-256 encryption at rest and SSL/TLS in transit. | Thanos uses TLS by default for object storage communication, but its security policy says local metrics are not encrypted by Thanos and its HTTP APIs lack authorization or TLS support. |

In their own words
Site24x7 Kubernetes Monitoring
Site24x7 Kubernetes Monitoring provides observability across Kubernetes infrastructure, control planes, objects, and application layers. It supports OpenTelemetry ingestion and eBPF-based auto-instrumentation without manual code changes, and monitors metrics alongside Pod, Audit, Event, and Application logs. Distributed tracing and alerting through email, SMS, webhooks, or voice calls are listed. Dashboards offer inventory and views for namespaces, clusters, nodes, pods, containers, deployments, DaemonSets, ReplicaSets, and StatefulSets. Supported environments include AKS, EKS, GKE, OpenShift, AWS Fargate, Rancher, DigitalOcean, MicroK8s, Kind, K3s, Oracle Kubernetes Engine, Linode Kubernetes Engine, and Bottlerocket. AI anomaly detection and automated root-cause analysis are intended to identify application and infrastructure issues. The service is SaaS, with Android and iOS apps. Licensing uses one basic-monitor license per cluster monitor; the first 10 containers on each node are free, and each further set of 10 requires a host-monitor license. New users get a 30-day trial with all platform features and no credit card requirement. No plan price is listed.
