Overview

Textmagic combines SMS and email messaging with automation and a shared inbox for business teams. It is best suited to organizations that send recurring, permission-based messages and need staff to manage replies together. Its range of messaging tools is useful, but channel exclusions and destination-dependent costs may make it the wrong fit for teams with broader messaging needs.

Key features

Mass texting, scheduled campaigns, email campaigns, audience segmentation, and workflow automation cover both planned broadcasts and recurring notifications. A shared inbox, inbound messaging, MMS support, and delivery reporting help teams handle replies and keep track of delivery. These tools suit practical communications such as appointment reminders, delivery updates, staff alerts, payment reminders, and lead follow-up.

The REST API supports SMS and email, and an MCP connector works with compatible AI assistants and coding tools. HubSpot, Shopify, WooCommerce, and Zapier integrations help connect messaging to common business workflows; BYOC connections to Twilio, Vonage, Sinch, and Bandwidth offer another route for provider connectivity. Textmagic also provides consent records and automatic opt-out enforcement. US 10DLC brand and campaign registration is required for applicable messaging.

There are meaningful channel limits: Textmagic does not support shortcodes, outbound WhatsApp or social messaging, simultaneous SMS and email campaigns, or virtual numbers for OTP delivery. Teams that need any of those capabilities should look elsewhere rather than treat Textmagic as an all-channel platform. Textmagic states that it is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant, and describes annual external penetration testing.

Pricing

Essential is priced at 0.05 USD per month, billed 100% prepaid. Rates vary by destination country, and each SMS part allows 160 plain-text characters. That makes the headline price a poor guide to total spend for teams sending longer messages or communicating across several countries.

Essential (pay-as-you-go) costs 0.00 USD per free, with prepaid credits, no monthly minimum, and unused credit that never expires. US SMS costs $0.049 per message, inbound SMS is free, and texting numbers cost extra. After business domain verification, 10,000 emails are included free; additional email costs $0.003 per email. This is the more flexible choice for low or uneven messaging volumes, though teams still need to account for number charges and destination-specific SMS rates.

Professional has custom pricing, with credits that roll over for up to 2 months. It may suit teams that want a plan beyond Essential, but the rollover window matters for buyers whose message volume varies seasonally. The free trial includes full feature access, requires no credit card, and lasts a maximum of 30 days. There is no free plan.

Platforms

Textmagic is available on web, iOS, Android, and through its API. The mobile apps support SMS conversations and contact management, while advanced features are available in the web app. The REST API and MCP connector add options for teams building messaging into their own systems or compatible tools.

Who it's for

Textmagic fits businesses that manage recurring, permission-based communications with customers or staff and want shared conversation visibility or messaging automation. Its mix of campaigns, inbox tools, and integrations is especially relevant for routine reminders, updates, and follow-up. It is less suitable for teams that depend on shortcodes, outbound social or WhatsApp messages, simultaneous email and SMS campaigns, or OTP delivery through virtual numbers.

Pros and cons

Pros: SMS, email campaigns, automation, segmentation, inbound messaging, MMS, and a shared inbox support both broadcasts and ongoing conversations.
Pros: A full-featured trial requires no credit card and can last up to 30 days, giving teams room to assess workflows before paying.
Pros: Consent records and automatic opt-out enforcement support permission-based messaging.
Cons: SMS rates vary by destination, and the prepaid Essential plan counts messages in 160-character plain-text parts.
Cons: Texting numbers cost extra on pay-as-you-go, and that plan's free email allowance requires business domain verification.
Cons: No shortcodes, outbound WhatsApp or social messaging, simultaneous SMS and email campaigns, or virtual numbers for OTP delivery.
Cons: Advanced features are web-only, limiting what mobile users can do beyond conversations and contact management.

Verdict

Choose Textmagic if your business needs recurring SMS and email communication, shared handling of replies, and automation in one service. Its strongest case is the combination of campaign and conversation tools with API access and business integrations. Look elsewhere if your messaging depends on shortcodes, outbound WhatsApp or social channels, simultaneous SMS and email campaigns, or virtual numbers for OTP delivery; compare destination rates and prepaid terms before committing.
